You should check out www.reliable-store.com they have info on repair, service, wiring diagram, electrical diagram, fuse diagram, torque specs,
troubleshooting, PCV, gear box, owner's/service/repair/parts manual, fault codes, error codes, etc everything on all vehicles. must check it out
If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus i know a website that sells very cheap but very Best Manuals
I do not have the 740IL manual, but generally the fuel pump relay is either on the right side in the trunk above the battery or behind the glove box. (there is usually a little card indicating which relay it is)
1998 bmw 740il
My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website reliable-store that i used to buy them from, and they sold online it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.
If you're comfy with manuals then i know few websites that can help you with it. Bcause I've got it from various
websites so I know how each site deals. try www.reliable-store com . Very helpful
Make sure you have the right amount of coolant in the vehicle. Make sure your fans are running correctly. If they are not running, check the fuse. If all this checks out, it may be a bad thermostat.
