The sensor should be right there where the intake air duct meets the air filter housing.
That oil down in the spark plug tube is most likely from a leaking valve gover gasket. Oil in there can and will cause misfires.

rough means misfire.
there are lots of ways to get misfire.
not just spark.
its one of many.
log in to mitchell's and read.
or buy the service manual.
or get car serviced
or do that test to find out what is causing misfire
spark plugs top my list, well if the ISM wiring is ratty, sure.

1994 isuzu rodeo will not start, black tailpipe, ran rough 5 days ago. now only wants to but will not start

Hi Carl, What engine is fitted in your vehicle? If its the 4JX1 If your engine is fitted with the common rail fuel injection system, I suggest that you have the engine flushed with the correct engine oil, replace the two oil filters and then try starting the engine. If nothing happens then suspect the ORP Sensor, found inside the tappet cover and mounted on the oil rail. This is the sensor which opens the electronic gate of the injector drive. It is a crystal sensor and is operated by the pressure of oil pumped through the lubrication system of the engine. If the oil is not of the correct viscosity and too thick it will crack the crystal causing failure. Regular servicing with the correct oil is ultra important with those engines. Regards John

you said your not getting spark..... double check that all of your plug wires are firmly attached ... you could possibly have a bad coil pack .

1999 isuzu 3.2 misfire

This could be a problem with the spark plug wires. If resistance is high or the boots have carbon tracks, they could be causing spark to go places it shouldn't. Distributor cap?
Make sure places like that are clean and dry. Check for grease or dirt inside spark plug boots. If all else fails, open the hood in the dark and look for sparks jumping around the engine when you rev it up. If so, replace the plug wires.
