How do u remove the drivers side door panel to fix the window

Sounds like a connector is disconnected inside the driver side door. The connector is usually located near the front of the door. Removing the door panel could be a job you do not want to attempt, but the car being a 2004 you may want to try. The wiring for the door windows and locks goes through this door.

Remove mirror mount cover assembly.
Remove inside door handle cup (22634).
Remove door lock control bezel.
Remove window control bezel.
Remove interior lamp lens.
Remove screw from interior lamp assembly body.
Remove screw from window control bezel opening.
Disconnect mirror, lock switches and memory seat on driver side from bezels and wire harness.
Disconnect window switches from window bezel and wire harness.
Lift front door trim panel (23942) vertically, out of weatherstrip and over lock rod.
Disconnect interior lamp (13776) from wire harness.
Remove front and rear door trim retention hooks into door inner panel.
To install, reverse Removal procedure, paying special attention when inserting inner door trim into weatherstrip. Rock inner door trim into weatherstrip and push downward until lower trim belt character ditch lines up with score mark on inner door panel.

The video shows details of door panel removal. First locate all the screws on the door panel, usually at the door handle and door rest. Look for any hidden screws that may be covered with small plastic caps.

After all screws are removed, the side and bottom clips need to be popped out of the door frame. You can purchase a set of trim tools to pop the clips, or you can use flat blade screw drivers and a flat putty knife to pop the clips out. Sometimes the clips break, but they are replaceable. Once the sides and bottom are loose, the top of the panel is loosened by lifting up on the panel, disengaging the panel from the top track on the door frame. Be careful of wiring connectors, which will have to be disconnected to completely remove the panel.

remove all screws(phillips) remove the power window/locks switches carefully, all along the door panel edges there are clips that hold the panel onto the inside door skin these must be carefully pried as to not break them, they are plastic... have a screw # 2 phillips driver, flat bladed also to pry panel etc. and a pair of needle nose pliers to remove any clips that stay stuck in the door skin once the panel is removed. Look over the panel carefully and be sure you remove anything that ressembles a plastic caq/cover to ensure safe removal. Go slow do it right the first time!!! Good luck. John

You need to remove inner door panel by unscrewing the screws on inner door handle and take a flat screw driver wedge it between the panel and door use flash light to see the clips along the sides and lower part of door and pry them free. then look through the inner door cut outs to find window track. Once you see it use ratchet or screw driver and loosen the window free form track. Then carefully remove window.

Parts stores sell door panel removal tools. Just watch for hidden screws in the door panel. The passenger side motor is replaceable, just involves removing the door panel and removing the power motor. The regulator may need lubricated, I'd do the drivers side after you get the glass out.

You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Pull back the weather seal and you can readjust the window mechanics.

The first thing you need to do before buying any parts is to remove the door panel and find out exactly what is wrong, the motor is a gear reduction unit and even if the motor works it may still not drive the output gear. The door panel is held on by screws and hidden clips, pop off any panels or light fixtures on the door trim, under those you will find the hidden retainer screws, then gently pull door panel at edges to disengage feather style snaps.
