Removing rear door panel

I rolled down the rear window of my sonata on sunday only to not be able to roll it back up again. seems to have slipped a clip or the motor to move the window up and down is broken. I need instructions to remove the door panel so that I can take a look and get an idea of the parts I need.

Any idea where I can get instructions like this?

Passenger side window won't roll up

You have to remove the door panel to get to the window crank assembly. The window has fallen off the pin the roller is on or a carrier bolt has come loose and let the window drop. You can hurt anything by removing the window crank and door handle then the panel to access the window crank assembly to see what went wrong.

How to repair rear window that won't roll up or

You'll need to remove the door panel from the inside of the door. Go to an auto parts store and ask them for a trim removal tool and a pry tool to help remove the window crank handle - tell the clerk what you want to do. Use the trim tool to unhook the catches around the outside of the door panel. Remember to unscrew the arm rest before you try to pull the panel off the door. Once you have that off, you will likely find that that the glass has slipped off of the track that the bottom of the glass rides on. It helps to have someone help you hold the glass as you lift it up and reset it on the track. Make sure that it is seated squarely on the window track and that it rides up and down smoothly before you put all the parts back together.

Good luck!

I came out of work yesterday and noticed the rear window rolled all the way down and I know I hadn't done it and then again the same issue. it rolls up fine and does not seem to roll down when jostled...

I had similar problem it was the key switch in the rear tailgate. You need to remove the upholstered panel and then the steel panel and with the window all the way up you can unplug the key switch harness connector to remove it from the circuit. I left mine unplugged and now works fine with just the front panel switch.

Hope this helps

I cant seem to get my window to roll down, the motor is working perfectly but the window just dont want to roll down? what should i do?

sounds like the either the spline on the motor has worn or the window track has detached from the window. Remove the interior door panel just enough to see inside the door & try rolling it down you should be able to see what the motor is doing from there should be an easy fix. If its a worn spline you may have to replace the motor

Power windows roll down slowly

You can try a dry lube or lithium grease on the slow ones, but it sounds more like you need new window motors. Unfortunately Saturns are plastic cars, and... The window motors are not too difficult to change and it requires removing the outer door panel to make it easier to access.

if so here are some instructions.

  2. Remove the inside door handle and disconnect the latch rod.
  3. Remove the screws and detach the clips attaching the door panel (see trim pad remover.
  4. Disconnect the power window and courtesy light harnesses.
  5. Remove the door panel bracket and carefully remove the plastic cover
  6. Remove the screw attaching the door lock crank. Disconnect the latch rod from the latch side.
