My throttle sticking, the car has been sitting for a year. When I start it the throttle gets stuck open. Is there an easy way to fix the throttle cable from sticking?

You should not need to pump the throttle. That does not have any effect on starting the engine on a fuel injected car.

You will probably need tor replace the throttle position sensor....TPS... You can check and make sure the wiring is connected...Easy to find it is located on the side of your throttle body...usually on the right hand side, or toward the front of the car on your engine....

flooding, (spark tips soaked in raw fuel?)
starving. (is it?) for fuel? same test as above, but bone dry. cranked.

yes, then the ISC may be stuck closed.

stalls are cause by 4 things, (but 50 reasons)
1: lost 12vdc to EFI system. (see dash go dead or lights dim?)
2: lost compression, hot. Id bet not... on this car.
3: lost spark, easy tests. same way for 100 years. a test spark plug.
4: bad fueling, this puts you in the 50 reasons way.
but we dont go there, we do the tests, if you get to step 4.

Your thermostat which closes when cold to let the engine warm up and opens when the water gets hot and lets it circulate through the radiator. If they stick closed your engine overheats in short order. When they stick open it takes forever and a day for the heater to warm sufficiently. This also makes the engine use more fuel. If your thermostat is indeed stuck open it is easy to tell. With the engine cold, take the radiator cap off and start the engine. If it is stuck open water will immediately circulate as seen at the radiator cap opening. If the thermostat were operating normally you would not see water moving for 5 or more minutes of idling. You should always drain the coolant, flush and refill every 2 years. Never ever grab that garden hose and put tap water in your radiator. They come from the factory with distilled water (about $1 a gallon at any grocery store) which has no minerals in it. The minerals in tap water promotes rust and scale build-up in the cooling system reducing it's efficiency. Don't use tap water unless you WANT to have problems.

A master mechanic turned me on to this clever answer.

Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses while working in a well ventilated area.

Take the rubber hose off between the filter box and the inlet throttle body.
Spray brake fluid onto an old clean rag and wipe down as much of the inlet enclosure and throttle plate that you can. Be careful not to get you fingers stuck in there, keep a skinny stick handy to move the plate full open if you do get stuck.

Varnish and deposits build up in the throttle body that prevent the on board computer and servo from easily moving the throttle plate and set it to the correct position for each atmospheric scenario. In short, it gets stuck.
Cleaning that area returns startup operation to normal.

Replace the rubber hose before testing as the mass airflow sensor needs to be in use for the computer to finish start [and run] calculations.

It is probably not a good idea to just spray the brake cleaner into the throttle body as the effect on the very expensive catalytic converter downstream is unknown, but probably detrimental.

Sounds like one of two problems, The first would be a sticking throttle plate, you can fix this if you did the things you mentioned above to do so all you need to do is get to the throttle plate and with carburetor cleaner or top engine cleaner you can buy from any GM dealer Use a tooth brush to clean the throttle plate inside and outside and the ring the plate after you get it clean put it t gether and start it and get it warm next pull a hose feeding into the intake and put it in the can of Top engine cleaner and allow the cleaner to be sucked into the engine until it is all in the engine and shut off and let sit for 20 minutes. The start it up and run it till it's running smoothly now run it for the day and let it sit over night, try starting it, if it does you found the problem and fixed it if it does not start then do this push the throttle plate down to the floor and hold and crank over if it starts your set if it still has the gas smell in the morning check the cold start valve and see if gas is running out of it if it is then the cold start valve may have to be replaced. you also need to check the engine one more time and see if the EGR valve is sticking open after it turns off and cools down. there is a throttle-stop, this prevents the throttle valve getting stuck in the bore, put simply the valve is a perfet fit and if it fully closes it is liable to get stuck in that position, so a "stop" is employed to keep the throttle just a tiny bit open, but without increasing the idle speed, it is similar to an idle-control screw. tighten this a little, so it keeps the throttle a little more open - check this diagram to find the stop adjuster screw.

check your fuses and starter, with a multimeter.
