2001 aurora drivers side vent is always hot whether ac is on or not . passenger side works with the ac or heat. is this the door actuator that is bad on drivers side.

Try unplugging the battery for 5 min's to re-sync the dual climate controls. If that fails it is likely that the air temperature control blend door is sticking to in the heated air position, this is either due to the door being warped and sticking inside the duct work or the electric actuator for the door being defective, both are usually replaced.

Douglass, Your A/C may have lost it's programming, blend door actuator could be faulty or A/C could be low on refrigerant. You may have to take in and have a good Tech. diagnose and estimate repair.

Drivers side vents will blow hot air while is turned on but passenger side...

Look for a vacuum line off or leaking start in the engine compartment than work your way under dash usually in engine compartment but could be under dash usually passenger side or on the back of control switch on dash.

The actuator door that is behind the dash that closes off the heater core from shooting hot air thru the vents might be your problem. When you turn on your ac the actuator shuts the door to prevent the air from flowing thru the heater core into the cabin, this may be your problem if everything else is working properly. You likely have a faulty blend door. It could be electrically, mechanically related, or even a broken door. It may be the blend door motor, or possibly the temp sensor.

One of your Actuators inside the dash that control the A/C Heat doors/ Baffles that open or close, to either give you hot or cold air has failed. Find and replace the failed Actuator and it should work fine.

The Aurora has dual-zone heating & cooling. Sounds like either the sensor or control know on the car is disconnected or not working. The passenger control is the knob on the passenger door. The sensor for it is under the glove box. I believe you need to remove the glove box hinge to see it. Could be the wires came loose or the sensor is bad. If anyone was working in either of these areas, maybe they forgot to reconnect one of them.

it is the flap door inside the heater box area.alot of gm with electronic climate control have the problem.there is an actuator motor that needs to be replaced.

sounds like the drivers temp door actuator is not working should be located on the drivers side of the air box down by the gas pedal or center dash area
