How do i reset my check engine light that is on in my 2001 Saturn? so that it will pass inspection everything is working properly but i cant get the check engine light to reset

check engine lights are a pain and unlucky there's no way to turn them off and pass inspection untill whatever the codes call for to be fix and jaguars are tough cars to work on and have expensive parts if you cant seems to get it fix i would suggest taking it to the dealer.
YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE 100 MILES FOR COMPUTER IN CAR TO HAVE ENOUGH INFO FOR INSPECTION, I JUST PUT IN A NEW BATTERY AND WENT FOR INSPECTION, ONLY 20 MILES ON , WOULD NOT PASS, WENT BACK A WEEK LATER AND HAD TO PAY AGAIN!!! BUT PASSED
If your engine light is coming on, then there is a code somewhere in the computer,it may be a pending code.Its possible your computer is bad. Have your computer tested.
One thing that i would check is the Crankshaft sensor...Pull off the wiring to the sensor and connect the leads of an ohmmeter to the terminals...Its resistance should be between 700 to 900 ohms.. I would not keep replacing the sensors at random....You will have more money in the car than its worth..A good meter and a Haynes manual will show you how to check the sensors....
Only service station can reset.If your check engine light is on go to a Pep Boys or auto barn most will read the computer diagnostic for free.( $ 5-10 ) tip might get them to reset it,might.I don't know what a service station charges $ 75 ? good luck
check all your fuses, there may also be a code about to set. the timeframe depends on your driving habits. or it could be the garage you are taking it to. ask them for a "drive cycle" printout. this is a form that explains the exact driving conditions for your vehicle to reset the monitors. you could also try taking it to autozone- they can tell you if it is ready or not.
