On the BMW there is an electronic control module that controls all of these functions, sounds like you have a problem with it. Check your fuses, if non are blow there are dealers on e bay that can repair it for around the £70 mark. I have a similar problem with my 3 series

Check fuses first, then check the wiring connections to the buttons. Possible the plugs are corroded and just need to be unplugged, cleaned, and plugged back in.

Drivers door and fuel cap not locking with central locking have to lock door with key also fuel cap does not lock all other doors lock and open with central locking drivers door opens with central locking

Hello Alan,

I would suspect the fuel flap actuator has failed. Open the trunk. In the right rear corner is the access cover. Open it and you'll see some insulation matting near the top. Behind it is a fuse/relay carrier, I believe either fuse 55 or 56 is blown. If so the fuel flap actuator needs replaced. The fuse also controls the central locking system.

Bmw 320dse cant open fuel cap

If you are refering to the fuel flap this locks and unlocks with the central locking and they tend to jam. Go inside the boot and remove the carpet at the side of your fuel filler and you will se a cord, pull this and your flap will open.

My central locking on my 1997 vw golf just stopped working it sounded like it was trying to work but now does nothing. also the gas tank cover wont open as its stuck on lock...any advice on what i can try?

the gas flap is operated with the central locking, stand at rear of car with tailgate open, just inside to the right, under the floormat you will find the central locking pump.but first renew the batteries in the remotes then unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows may go down,
then lock the car with the key and hold over for 30 secs, the windows may go up and the sunroof,if fitted will close, then unlock with remote button held down for 30 secs, this will reset alarm/central locking.
if you need to get to gas flap, pull carpet away in boot behind flap area and pull wire to unlock....

Central locking does not work on 2000 5301

hello, there is a central locking fuse located in the fuse holder above the battery in the trunk. when you access the trim, look on the fuse description on the back side of the trim cover. I believe it may be either fuse #54 or #56. if the fuse is blown, you probably have a failed fuel flap actuator.

go inside your trunk on the the right access cover where the battery is located.above the battery is a small fuse panel. check fuses 54 and 56. the lengend on the inside of the access cover should list the fuse for central locking. check the fuse listed. if it is blown you probably have a failed fuel flap actuator.

Same as above central locking dead, interior light not working and only the trunk working

Sounds like maybe you could have a bad fuel flap actuator. Look in the trunk on the right side where the battery is. There is a fuse panel there and on the access trim cover is a chart for the fuses. Check the fuse for the central locking. If it is blown suspect the fuel flap actuator.

The mechanic used his diagnostic gadget which showed a problem with the drivers door. All other doors windows locks work except drivers door. Has check the power supply to the drivers door switch all ok. Is the problem with this internal window control switch and how does this affect the drivers door lock?
