Removal & Installation

  1. Select the following settings:
    Turn the ignition ON Select Recirc in the OFF setting Turn the ignition OFF
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the wiper arm assemblies.
    CAUTION A sharp edge is revealed once the weatherstrip is removed.
  4. Remove the weatherstrip at rear of the engine compartment.
  5. Remove the cowl retaining nuts.

  6. Remove the cowl screen assembly.
  7. Rotate the locking tabs outward to release the filter assembly.
  8. Remove the filter by lifting straight up.

  9. Remove the wiper module retaining bolts.
  10. Reposition the wiper module to the right.
  11. Remove the filter housing attachment bolts.
  12. Remove the filter housing.
  13. Remove the blower motor housing:

  15. Release the locking tabs and remove the fan housing
  16. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  17. Squeeze the bottom of the connector and pull downward.
  18. Remove the blower motor assembly by lifting straight out.
To install:

NOTE The fan motor assembly rib must be located into the channel in the module housing.
  1. Install the blower motor assembly into the module housing.
  2. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
    NOTE The housing rib must fit into the slot in the HVAC module case.
  3. Install the blower motor housing. Snap the left and right clip into place
  4. Tighten the fan housing to blower motor housing screws to 9 inch lbs.(1 Nm).
    NOTE A new filter housing seal must be used whenever the filter housing is removed to prevent water from leaking into module.
  5. Remove the filter housing seal using a small flat-blade screwdriver.
  6. Install a new filter housing seal.
  7. Install the filter housing.
  8. Install the filter housing screws, and tighten the screws to 31 inch lbs.(3.5 Nm).
  9. Position the wiper module.
  10. Install the wiper module bolts, and tighten the bolts to 44 inch lbs.(5 Nm).
  11. Install the passenger compartment air filter. Notice the air flow direction indicator printed on side of the filter.
  12. Rotate the locking tabs on the filter housing inward to secure the air filter in place.
  13. Install the cowl screen.
  14. Install the cowl screen nuts, and tighten the nuts to 9 inch lbs.(1 Nm).
  15. Close filter access door.
  16. Install the weatherstrip at rear of the engine compartment.
  17. Install the wiper arm assemblies.
  18. Connect the negative battery cable.
  1. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  2. Remove the lower blower motor cover retaining screws.

  3. Remove the lower blower motor cover.
  4. Remove the blower motor nuts.
    NOTE Cut through the case as straight as possible because the motor cup must be replaced.
  5. In order to prevent damage to the component, do not cut any deeper than necessary to remove the motor cup.
  6. Remove the blower motor and cup from the lower case by cutting through the case between the circular ribs around the motor with a sharp utility knife.
  7. Release the blower motor retaining tab and remove the motor from the cup.
To install:
  1. Install the blower motor into the motor cup that was cut out of the lower case.

  2. Install the blower motor nuts, and tighten the nuts to 21 inch lbs.(2.4 Nm).
  3. Attach the service ring to the motor cup with the screws included in the kit, and tighten the screws to 15 inch lbs.(1.8 Nm).
  4. Install the blower motor and service ring into the HVAC module using the screws included in the kit. Make certain the blower motor electrical connector is pointing rearward in the vehicle, and tighten the screws to 15 inch lbs.(1.8 Nm).
  5. Install the lower blower motor cover.
  6. Install the lower blower motor cover retaining screws, and tighten the screws to 15 inch lbs.(1.8 Nm).
  7. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.

You go in from the engine side . Disconnect the negative battery cable.Remove the super blade assembly, both. Pull up the cover that houses the interior filter and remove. Remove the wiper motor assembly.The blower is directly under it. Remove the four screws holding the blower cover on and remove.There is only a flat black plate that holds the blower in place .Disconnect the power line running to it, and pull up.

Blower Motor Control Module Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Remove the insulator from the right side of the instrument panel.
  2. Disconnect the connectors from the blower motor resistor and blower motor.
  3. Loosen the two forward screws and remove the rear screw of the resistor assembly.
  4. Remove the blower motor resistor assembly.
To Install:
Install the blower motor resistor assembly. Install the rear screw and tighten the forward screws. Connect the electrical connectors to the blower motor and resistor assembly. Install the insulator under the right side of the instrument panel.

Heater blower motor does not run in any speed

if the fuses are all good change the blower motor-
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Disconnect the blower motor lead connector from the wiring harness connector.
  • Remove the blower motor cooling tube from the blower motor.
  • Remove the four retaining screws.
  • Turn the motor and the wheel assembly slightly to the right so that the bottom edge of the mounting plate follows the contour of the wheel well splash panel.
  • Lift up on the blower and remove it from the blower housing.
  • Installation the new blower motor by reversing the removal steps.
  • Connect the negative battery cable.

    I don't know where the heater-ac blower is located or how to get to it. The car is a 2000 L series saturn.

    The blower motor is located under the panel directly ion front of the windshield, the wiper arms and then the nylon nuts on the post must be removed to access the blower, here is a picture of the blower motor in the car with the panel taken off. Move the picture to your picture files and enlarge it, I apologize for the size but it was all that was available.

    How to replace a blower motor in a 1996 ford thunderbird lx

    Removal
    1. Remove the glove compartment liner to gain access to the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly mounting screws.
    1. Use a small screwdriver to remove clip retaining hydraulic damper strut.
    1. Remove four screws and remove the heater blower motor assembly and blower motor wheel assembly from the heater blower motor housing.
    Installation
    1. Using a new seal, position the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly to the heater blower motor housing with the flat side of the flange near the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591). Install the four retaining screws.
    1. Tape the heater blower motor power lead to the air inlet duct to keep the wire away from the blower outlet during installation.
    1. Install the heater blower motor and blower motor wheel assembly in the vehicle.
    1. Install the glove compartment liner.

    Heater blower isn"t working where is it

    Should be on the passengers side under the dash.You might have to remove a panel to see under the dash.Make sure you are getting power to the blower motor before you replace it.If your not getting power then it is not the blower motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

    The blower motor quit in my 2000 sl1 saturn

    check the hvac fuse. if its ok you can check the heater control resistor. its mounted in the heater box usually on the passenger side under the dash. these are cheep and available at your local parts store
