I have seen jeep TPS - throttle position sensors cause a surge like you describe , but not with injector circuit code's . The PCM - engine computer controls the injectors by supplying a PWM - pulse width modulation ground . Checking the electrical circuits for those injector's would be the thing to do . Do you know how to test electrical circuit's ? Plus checking the drivers (transistors ) inside the PCM should be done . Could be a wiring or computer problem or even those injectors could be failing .

SOURCE: 2002 jeep cheroke misfires on cylinder #4

Check intake gasket and vecuum hoses near intake runner #4. To do this spray carb cleaner at parting line between manifold and block while engine is running. If leaking rpm will dramatically change. A leak will lean out that cyl and cause misfire

SOURCE: jeep will just die going down doad or will not start, had a code that read camchaft sensor replaced that still the same, now i have a code that reads injector circuit malfunction i mhave changed fuel

That sounds like a bad grounding wire, or possible PCM malfunction. Check all engine wiring harness locations for any corrosion or damage. let me know what engine type you have, and I could look up the wiring schematics

SOURCE: i have a jeep cherokee 01 and the check engine

tinyp78 has it right if it has the check engine light on then don't run it as it will damage the catalytic converter, as well if the injector fails and exlodes the parts can go into engine and damage a valve or cylinder.

SOURCE: 2000 jeep cherokee laredo - Check engine light

Could be a vacuum issue or the modulator..

The modulator tells it when to shift and is controlled by vacuum presure..
Check all vacuum lines that rum from the tranie for cracks, spits etc..

it could also be a sensor..

Hope this helps !!

95 jeep Cherokee loss of power going up hill or even pushing on gas at 50mph then pops and sputters....at an idel getting a serge jumps from 1000rpm to 2000 rpm and back down WTF....I need help

I would replace the spark plug wires and spark plugs first and verify correct fuel pressure. Also do an OBD1 fault code test. You can do this test by turning the ignition key to run and then off and then to ruin and off then to run and wait for check engine light to blink out codes, codes will be a number of flashes and a pause and then more, for instance 4 blinks and then pause and 3 blinks, that is fault code 43

On a 05 nissan sentra with a 2.5 engine, what would cause the engine speed to surge up & down at 2000rpm

You may won't to check your air filter. It may be loose or may need to be replaced. This can cause power surges. If this doesn't work you may won't to look into you fuel filter or fuel pump.

What does it mean when the check gage light come on and the oil pressure hand goes to the zero mark? I have a 2000 jeep grande cherokee limited with 124,000 miles.

Either the oil level is very low or the engine bearings have failed (assuming the gauge is accurate) if the engine isn't making noise and the level is full have a mechanical gauge installed to check actual pressure. if good, the sending unit or gauge is faulty.
If in doubt, do not drive or run the engine 'tll the problem has been diagnosed.

Engine runs fast on start up (2000)rpm. when temp rises the engine hunts down and up from 2000rpm. no tick over

This is normal sometimes when it is cold. However, you should let the engine to run for ~ 2 minutes before you drive away...it will dissappear.

Engine revving intermittently- 98 jgc 5.2 v8

none of the above
the problem is a sensor in the transmission changing ratios so run the fault codes and check the problem
suspect that wiring or a TR ( transmission ratio) sensor is going faulty

2000 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 dies want idle

This has happened all of a sudden?
It is sounding like it is starving for fuel...

First we will check for bad fuel. A GOOD Gasline Antifreeze can get the impurities and water out of the Gas. Get a bottle and pour the whole thing in the gas tank, bounce the car around to mix it with the fuel. Start it and let it run for a little while so see if it smooths out. If does not help then look at replacing the fuel filter as it may be clogged.
