Your owners manual will tell you which fuse and its location on the fuse box panel, which is located behind the pull down tray, to the left of your steering column.
get the oper, guide
or read the FSM. WJ FSM. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service
its there. shows the schematic and full fuse box data.
you could just check the fuses... no need for a book, at all
check them. if some are blown then they need to be replaced
or the short found.
Hopefully just a blown fuse...refer to your owners manual for the location of your fuse panel...there is a specific fuse for dash lights, some include cigarette lighter...Is your cig lighter working?
I suggtes check the position CIG LTR for Cigarette Lighter. The underhood fuse block in the engine compartment on the driver's side of the vehicle near the battery. Lift the cover for access to the fuse/relay block.
To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
Also, in this link could donwnload the Owner's Manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Hope this helps to solve it (remember to rate and commene this answer).
If you still have your owners manual, it will show you the fuses. Just in case you don't, they are located in the fuse panel under the hood. The AUX outlet fuse is just to the left of the 3rd relay along the top row, the cig fuse is located just below the 3rd relay.
OK then look up the fuse location for your power accessory
the cigar fuse is usually under the hood in that panel most likely a 20 amp yellow fuse take a flash light and hold it to the fuses helps you to see if there is a broken fuse
there is a little fuse located behind the coins tray below the ac vent. when mine had the same problem the electrician had pulled out this tray and rplaced that fuse.
