Audi a4 quattro 1999 airbag sensor

Sensor suddenly came on in a parking lot when I started the car.
Car was not hit. Pulled on the passenger seat release to get a bike in the car...seat came up like an ejector seat. From what I read on the internet I would guess that one of the wires under the seat jarred loose. Nothing out of place that I can see. Can you tell me specifically what wire connections to look for under the seat?

Passenger seat does not have power seats. They are manual. Hence the "ejector" pull handle. But thanks anyway.

Sounds like it fried the power seat motor when it faulted like that sometime power seat motors come loose which releases the power coupling clip for wires i believe this is a saftey factor for the seat and seat belts this will have to have seat pulled up and out to check this

The start of production of the Audi A4 B5 is 1994. With minor changes, it was produced until 2001. At first, only the sedan version was available, the station wagon (Avant) appeared a year later. Try unlocking the car with the key on the passenger side and locking it again, that resets the alarm. Use the key to unlock the car, same problem on my Audi estate of the same age. Found out later one of the windows was still open and the sensor detected that.

1996 Audi A4 quattro airbags install

The main thing with dealing with airbags is to ground yourself before plugging them in. Any electronics shop can sell you an ESD (electrostatic discharge) wrist strap and ground cord for a few dollars. Use this to ground yourself securely to the frame of the car. This gives a pathway for static electricity in your body to discharge into the car, rather than into the airbag connector, potentially blowing the airbags. All the same, whenever possible, don't sit in front of the bag you're installing in case something goes wrong and it does blow.
