If you can crack open the connection at the tank, I would do that to see if there is fuel getting past the filter/regulator. The fuel pressure regulator is an integral component of the fuel filter, which is mounted on top of the fuel pump module, located in the fuel tank. When the fuel filter/regulator assembly requires service, the fuel tank must be removed from the vehicle, however, the fuel pump module does not need to be removed.
If there is no fuel at the connection to the tank, the regulator has likely failed or perhaps the pump impeller has failed. Please let us know if you have more questions.

The pump pressure is down or is not functioning as required. You will need to calibrate the fuel pump so that it is simulated to show a good pressure and set afer changing the required spares..

Where is the fuel sensor on a 1997 jeep grand cherokee

Have you checked the fuel filter? I would pull the fuel line apart before the filter to see if the pump is putting gas into the line. With key on, the pump should run for 2 seconds to pressurize the lines and fuel rail. And when the engine is cranking over, the pump should be running constant and putting gas into the line. If gas shoots out, possibly the filter is clogged or the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is defective. If no gas comes out, possibly the pump filter sock is clogged or the pump is defective.
Very unusual for the pump to run and have NO fuel pressure.

My 1997 jeep grand cherokee limited died on the road now it wont start back battery is still good it seems like its out of gad but there is gas in the tank

If you can hear the pump running inside the tank right after it stalls and you turn the key to the run position, I'd be looking at the crank position sensor. If that fails, fuel will reach the fuel rail but the injectors won't fire. Also check cam sensor, pump relay and ASD relay in power distribution center.

1996 Jeep Cherokee, straight 6cyl, new fuel pump and now it is struggling running and pushing to much fuel. How do check fuel regulator, or where is it located? Thanks

the reg is most likely on the fuel rail. perform a pressure test with a fuel pressure gauge. attatch the gauge to the test point on the rail(looks like a vavle stem on the wheel), start engine and measure pressure. you must get the specs for pressure for your vehicle.typicly between 30 and 50 shut the vehicle off and leave the gauge attached. the pressure should hold. is the check engine light on?

1999 jeep cherokee has no fuel getting to the fuel rail. How do I know for sure that the fuel pump is the probelm? I have power to the fuel pump relay and I hear it clicking on and off when the key is...

See if you can take the fuel line loose somewhere along the fuel rail or closer to the motor. turn the key to the on position and see if you get any fuel coming out. If not its your pump.

1995 Jeep Cherokee Country straight 6 cyl 4.0L: I

First of all, the fuel pump is generally located in the fuel tank, not always though. Yours probably is, in did not research it. The fuel electric fuel pump turns on only when the ignition key switch is turned to the start position and then left on. A series of one or two relays along with a pressure monitor in the fuel rail delivery system may or not cycle it on and off depending on design. Enough of that. I suggest that you remove the spark plugs to see if they are oil/heavy cabon deposits. If so, professional attention is reguired. One more thing you could try is replacing the spark plug wires. the may be old/worn out/damage. This would give the engine spark a stronger spark,if worn and also replace the spark plugs.

My 94 jeep cherokee started ran for a minute or 2 and stopped

i would suggest checking to see if you are getting fuel by disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel rail and turn key if no fuel then its either fuel pump or fuel filter. if you get fuel then it would be the spark

I recently ran out of gas.The spark plugs not showing any fire. I am not sure how to bleed the fuel injectors? What do I do?

I fail to see how fuel pressure will cause a no spark condition. But, there should be a schrade valve on the fuel rail on most models. You can also spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking to get it started (but likely not because of spark) Your injection system should self purge. I would also check the crank position sensor...that can shut down fuel and spark under certain conditions. Make sure that fuel pump is running (listen with key on) before beginning any diagnosis.
