Oil pressure should be around 30 at idle and then sit at 60 when engine is above 2,000 RPM. If pressure varies at all engine speeds it indicates a sticking pressure relief valve which is located within the oil pump. You could try using some oil flushing product in the engine oil before the next oil change to see if it removes the gunk that is causing the valve to stick. If that does not improve it you should see a mechanic about replacing the relief valve.

2013 dodge ram 1500 5.7 l hemi got flactuating oil presure on low rpm

Since its a 2013.. i doubt if its a bad pump.. unless you have overheaded the engine and caused internal damage.. buy a cheap guage and install it.. replace the oil sender unit with the hose or new sender that comes with the new guage.. and find out really what your oil pressure is..

I have 2006 f350 diesel it acts like it's not

wow....the sky is the limit here....i LOVE the 6.0, it pays my bills :)....with that said..there are many possiblities, almost too numerous to speak of...first, i assume you can hear the fuel pump?..try opening the upper fuel filter housing and turning on the ignition key, if filter bowl fills, good!...when you crank it, is it cranking above 500 rpm? thats the minimum needed to start, make sure batteries are strong. when cranking, can you see the oil presure guage rise? does it have the right oil in it? your fuel injectors are driven by high presure oil, without base pressure (what your dash guage would read) the high pressure system has no oil to drive injectors "power stroke". if you have base pressure you really need to have a computer on it to monitor high presure oil when cranking, will need 500 psi just to fier then would jump up from there...it is also possible the FICM, or fuel injection control module has failed..this too needs to be tested with computer, needs to read internal voltages to make sure has45 volts..now the ficm may be covered under emission waranties still...that truck did come with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty on engine and some componetns are 6 years, based on state sold in...back to the high pressure oil system, in 06 the vehicle had awhat called a snap to connect fitting, or STC. that connects the high p[ressure oil pump to the branch tubes that supply oil to the injectors..that too can seperate with age and cause a no start...it would be in your best interest after chdecking the basics to see you dealer...in comparison the initial diagnosis would be cheap (in comparison) and effective if trying to repair on your own...it will save you much hair on your head!! good luck, hope this helps you...very hard if not impossible to diagnose these without compuiter on it!

I own a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse and it has a full amount of oil but the pressure gauge is showing a lower pressure than what it used to. Could it be the oil pump going out? Im running Valvoline 5W-30...

take it to a shop have them put a manual guage on it if it has low presure you need a new oil pump and new bearing but it is very bad to drive with bad presure

What is normal oil pressure suppose to read for 94 isuzu rodeo. my guage seems to read low when idle and raises when rev engine.

standard according to manual is @ 8 PSI I too thought that it was low. but when you drivce the presure rasies to @ 45- 50 PSI so it is normal.

I have an isuzu 1994 and i notice that the oil presure goes low.

I assume you have an oil pressure guage. If your oil level is normal it is most likely the oil pump,or a loose serpentine belt or tensioner is not doing it's job.Check the belt and tensioner for tightness first since it's the easiest to check. If you pull the tensioner in the opposite direction of the belt side,it should be fairly tough to move.
Good luck! Greg

No oil pressure on guage

change oil pressure sending unit. remove oil fill cap start engine to determine if oil pump is delivering oil to rocker arms. it it easer to tell if you remove one valve cover and then start engine. if rockers are not recieving oil change oil pump and clean oil strainer in oil pan

My temperature gauge warning light is coming on periodically...oil level is fine. What should the temperature be at? Is it possibly a sensor problem?

The temperature guage measures the coolant temperature, not the oil temperature -- the normal range is indicated on the guage.

Check your coolant.
