Fuel door wont open - 2000 Mazda MPV

If I remember rightly you turn the door key once
this unlocks the driver door
Turn a little further to unlock the passenger door and fuel cap
On the Zafira you could then remove the key and press the "open"
logo.
Failing this I suggest you open Youtube and search for Corsa fuel cap.
Always a good source for this type of problem

Most (?) Cars have a manuel opener inside trunk I believe. Mine was under carpet on side wall directly on back side of fuel door and looks like a wire

There is obviously a switch on the fuel door that prevents the sliding door from operating while the fuel door is open. Look for that switch and spray some electrical cleaner (or even "Brake Kleen" from an auto parts store). Both evaporate quickly without leaving residue. The switch is probably "gunky."

Sounds like the door release actuator is sticking. Try lubricating the latch when the door is open. In addition to using the button on the dash, you should be able to open the door pulling the wire adjacent to the fuel door inside the trunk.

There will be a small flat spring attached under a small screw ( rivet ) that presses on the base of the hinge when closed . They have a habit of breaking off and so the door will not pop open when activated . Have a friend activate the flap and at the same time press on the door near the hinge and it will open enough to get a finger under the door to open it. With a bit of luck the spring may be still in the caveity near the filler tube.

Stick strip of flexible material into the crack between the fuel door and the rest of the car, on the side opposite the hinge. I use about a 3/4 inch wide. piece cut from a coffee-can lid With this you should be able to pop back the bolt and open the door. This is called 'credit carding'. Once you have the door open, find the metal piece (some sort of prong, perhaps with hole in it) .protruding from the fuel door which engages the bolt(or seat into it so far. Bend this prong slightly so the bolt doesn't overlap it so far. It may take a few tries to get this right. Also, grease the bolt.

Press the unlock button every time you want to open the fuel door. The Fuel Door is connected to the rest of the locks in the murano.

Some cars will have an emergency fuel door release in the trunk it will be on the side of your fuel door

Could be that somebody tried to pry open and damaged the door removing your fuel

my 1998 Toyota Camry fuel door wont open. There is not a release in the trunk and suggestions other than break the door?
