Have 2002 mits lancer, changed fuel pump only getting about 10 psi at fuel rail, cant find filter, could pump I bought from Napa be bad or is there a filter in tank unit

engine problem, and no engine told at all.
No year told now that is a hard ROW TO HOE. 1973 to 2017 outside asia. wow so hard to guess year no? crazy hard.
NO country told and that fact helps point to 10 engine used world wide.
Diesel engines but is it turbo charged.
NO DTC errors to tell? just PID = 8000 psi?
is idle RPM at spec?
leaking injectors or bad 2000 bar pump or RPM way too low.
GEN 9, 2007 first diesels, is my wild wild guess is this./

common rail solenoid Injectors?
some have pressure regulator, ? 2,000 bar ,says web searches.

on the pump is this SCV (is modulated by PCM)(ECU)
the tank feed pump feeds this, SCV. my guess is this is bad,

if it leaks , pressures fall. but my guess is ok. here.

my guess is the 8000 psi, failure is real the sensor did no lie.
550- bar is too low. (using bar, pressure seen in Denso manuals 4N13)

Here are the usual suspects:
stuck fuel valve/float valve in the carburetor.
clogged fuel filter. or fuel line.
defective fuel pump.
electric fuel pump may be just a blown fuse, or wiring problem. good hunting.

Vapor lock is caused by fuel getting too hot in a fuel line or fuel rail and is rare since modern fuel system circulate fuel fro the tank to the fuel rails and then excess goes back to the tank. Are you sure you have vapor lock? Please describe all symptoms.

Tune up, with air and fuel filters. Check or have checked the catalitic converter

The filter is located on the inside of the drivers side frame rail around the area of the drivers door.

It's probably not getting fuel, BAD fuel pumps on those models. Have a mechanic check the pressure on the fuel injector rail under the hood. It needs 65 PSI for start up and around 60 PSI to run. Could also be the fuel filter, it's under the drivers side door mounted to the frame rail.

Really by the way you describe it you need to check the fuel pressure. There is a valve on the fuel rail for testing it. You will need a fuel pressure gauge. It should have 55 to 65 psi. It will not run on less than 50 psi. If you have less then it will be your pump. Good Luck

You may have a bad fuel pump, First thing is to change the fuel filter since that's the cheaper of the two and you can find the filter under the driver's side  inside frame rail.
Once that's been changed and you still have the problem then it's a good chance that it's your fuel pump has gone bad. Try doing a fuel pressure test and there should be a think 44 psi at idle, but please dubble check that it is 44 psi for your blazer.
Good luck and the fuel pump is in the gas tank, if your going to have to change the fuel pump, don't forget to change the wire harness from the frame rail to the pump since you have it apart. The harness is only $12.00 and that's a good investment if the wries are getting brittle and a broken wire will get you to drop the tank again.

From what your describing this sounds like you have a bad fuel pump and should be easy enough to verify.Install a fuel pressure gage on the fuel rail. Cycle key on and check for a minimum of 50 PSI. Start engine and verify fuel pressure maintains at least 50 PSI during symptom.

If pressure drops, lower fuel tank to check for B+ on the Pink/Black (PK/BK) and good ground on the Black (BK) while fuel pump relay is energized. If OK, replace faulty fuel pump.
Fuel pressure should run between 50-65 PSI. Fuel pumps are a common failure item on this vehicle especialy during warmer weather.

I had the same problem. What it is, is low fuel presure at the fuel rail caused by either a bad/clogged fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter. You are supposed to have 33-37 psi at the rail and mine dropped as low as 16 psi. Mine was caused by a secondary fuel tank that was metal. the tank rusted inside and that rust ended up into my main tank. On long trips that rust would build up at the pump causing it to starve the engine of fuel. Ford quoted about 900 bucks to change out the pump.
I suggest buying a pump at somewhere like Napa and installing it yourself, making sure the tank is clear of debis. You can do this for under 200 bucks.
