The fuse is labled 'brake'

I would replace the fuse... and then have someone stand to the rear of the vehicle and watch the lights come on as I applied the brake... if the fuse blows again... note which tail light did NOT come on durring this test and replace the bulb.. it is grounding to itself and causing the short.

2001 jeep wrangler. Brake lights won't work but

Check the brake control switch situated just above the break pedal arm under the dashboard. Could be a wire loose or unplugged or the switch itself could be faulty

1989 chevy 1/2 ton.brake lights or emergency flashers dont work.tail lights an blinkers work.

The Blinkers and the Brake Lights are the same bulb. So check the brake light switch. Flashers use a different flasher unit, than the turn signals

Have all tail light functions except no running lights

Check the relay under the hood. Either that or you have a short in the ground to one of your brake lights; they're run in a series.
