03 VW Passat with P0300, P0303, p0304, and P0302. Idles a little rough at first but then evens out. Seems to be driving fine no stalling or excessive shaking. I don't know what is causing this. CEL is on as well.

All those codes mean a specific cylinder missfire. Start with tune up. Plugs, wires & air & fuel filters.

Try the crank pisition sensor that is vary likely to be the couse of your misfires its working but its intermintly shorting out telling the pcm that you have a misfire and setting the codes

They may not be firing. I would check spark from coils. You may have a bad coil pack. Do check for any vacuum lines. You can go to autzone.com and register for full free online repair manual
