This actuator is a very common problem for the Diesel Jaguar X-Type & S-Types Built between 2003 and 2007.
The fault causes the flashing glow plug light to appear and the engine to go in to "limp mode" the problem normally starts out as an intermittent fault but then becomes more permanent.
These Actuators control the waste-gate on your turbo and are not available separately from the dealer, you have to buy the complete turbo for a small fortune.
* I am not affiliated in any way with this company.
A company can rebuild your own turbo actuator and/or supply replacement units from stock when available both options come with an unlimited mileage Lifetime warranty*.

Right try this ,disconnect the battery and join the leads together and leave for a while ,say 20 mins then try again but leave the mobile phone turned off and keep it away from the centre consol .The mobile phone signal can and does interfere with the electronics on this model ,long story but it does
jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.
the most common cause of that prob with xtype diesel is the hose going to the intercooler splits and leaks or the jubilee clip on the intercooler has corroded and broken allowing the hose to blow off not easy to get to to repair
Lack in fuel pressure picked up by fuel rail pressure sensor hence flashing glow plug light, there is more than one pump on this vehicle so a fuel pressure test is required to pin point, it could even be the FRPS itself. Quite a popular fault on common rail diesels.
Hi, glow plugs does not need changing unless the vehicle struggles to start in the morning or when cold. When testing the glow plugs, they should not take longer then about 5 seconds to become red hot.
check fuel pipe from tank.there might be some or sever kink. Also worth a chat at fords as they have a lot of exp with mondeo.check the air filter,it might be blocked.this problem also occurs when the ECU gets locked up.check the glow plugs if they are ok then you need to calidrate your injectors.
