Temperature control switch or slider. Move it to heat, or to the color RED. Good luck

Do you mean that the heater blows hot air until you start off driving? If so, then you need to check your blend door, it is probably broken, it is not really easy to change, it requires removing the entire dash. At the center bottom of your dash you will find a plastic cover, remove it and look in the center you will find a stepping motor, probably white in color, it will have an electrical plug in it, this motor controls the blend door. Remove three screws and remove the motor, then hook it up again and turn your temperature control from cold to hot, does the motor move? If it does then check the drive on the blend door (where the motor goes) can you rotate the blend door itself, if not the door is broken. The R&R procedure is extensive for the blend door. I would recommend a good shop in your area for repair of this door, but the test to determine that the door is broken is fairly simple. Hope this helps, let me know.

SOURCE: Heater blows cold air when idle

Sounds like you may have a partially plugged heater core. You could flush this out separately, from flushing radiator & engine block. Diconnect heater hoses going to your heater core and clamp off, so not to loose coolant from engine. Now hook up separate hose to one side of heater core pipe and flush out with typical garden hose. Repeat procedure on both heater core inlets. Reconnect original heater hoses and test difference. You may have to add an additional litre of antifreeze. If this don't work i suggest changing heater core. Good luck.........Ron.

the temp door is located in a box behind the glovebox, the actuator is either under or above the box. if you remove the glove box you should be able to see it.

Check there is water in it first. A black cap on top of the radiator. If the level is ok then a wee red dipstick should float up.
