By mistake I poured a small amount of transmission fluid in the brake fluid reservoir of my 2006 Chevy Equinox w/ ABS. It was maybe 2-3 oz. at most. Now they are telling me I need to replace all the rubber in my brake system. Is that right?
Your braking system will need to be flushed (all of the brake fluid completely removed) and refilled. If left in the braking system, the wrong fluid could end up ruining the brake calipers, brake master cylinder, rubber brake hoses, and other brake components – leading to brake failure.
I agree with Solution #1. If this has been solved already, my apologies.
