Re: 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer Transmission slips and just started shuttering sometimes while in drive or in reverse when cold. Really kinda ify, now. Had been ocassionaly for a while from 2nd-3rd and some late shifts from 3rd Up. Went on this trip of 250 miles and just as we were getting to our distination tranny started shuttering at hwy speeds 50-60 mph. If we shut off AC we have less occuances of the shutter. We need to travel that 250 miles home, can a fluid change and slip-stop additive possibly get us home? Fluid looks old. I had the fluid checked and topped off about less than a quart, (rather than a flush/change service), before we left but that "1/2 to 3/4" guart added was Dextron Mercon III rather than an ATF III fluid. Could this have ruined the Trans beyond a safe trip back home for a rebuild? Someone also mentioned possibly the modulator as well. Thx, Mike

I would flush and change fluid and certainly the filter. Would not be bad idea to change out the torque converter

What is the type of engine and Automaic transmission oil shall I use in lancer 2002 1300cc motor 4g13?

15w-30 engine oil and ATF transmission oil probably an atf -4 oil
ring any automatic transmission shop for the oil specs
make sure that it is a genuine automatic transmission and not a cv transmission ( constant velocity )transmission as using ATF oil will destroy the belt and the transmission

Had replaced plates and lining of the automatic transmission of lancer glxi '95,yet after putting it back, reverse gear not working. does it something to do with the torque converter or still with the...

Most likely the transmission. Could be in the valve body or it may be the reverse clutch piston seal (if it is a separate unit) and lastly it may be something stuck in the fluid passages in the transmission body.

Cannot control engine rpm mitsubishi lancer engine 1984. fuel injection sometime correct rpm, sometime too low and too high rpm

Your IACV idle air control valve has gone bad . When you put the car in gear does it take off and accelerate to about 50 MPH without touching the gas pedal ? Had the same problem. Part from Mitsubishi is about $435 PN # MR578268. It is about $30 to $50 dollars on any other car. If this is the problem, the IACV is located on the throttle body and is held on with three screws. I purchased the whole throttle body at a salvage yard for $40, took the IACV off and put it on my throttle body. Car works normal for now, I am looking for another spare. If enough people complain to MItsubishi and www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov

Operating lancer automatic transmission

Have you Had the transmission fluid checked? It sounds as if the transmission is slipping in these gears which would point to a fault within the bands. To have a problem like this repaired could cost as little as $200 or as much as $1700 depending on how much needs to be done. Was the replacement a second hand transmission? If yes then did you have a warranty period with it? Let me know and I will get back to you as i am about to seek out a manual for this.

Cheers
