Replacing a fuel pump
I'm having problems with the clips on the inlet and outlet pipes I keep breaking them. Maybe I just don't understand how they work
The fuel pump is probably located in the fuel tank which presents accessability issues. some can be accessed from a plate in the trunk floor, others require dropping the fuel tank, a major pain in the ****.I have a similar problem with my 92 ranger. The gas guage quit and the only solution is to drop the tank and put in a $100.00 replacement. I just buy gas every few days and hope I don't run out.good luck, John-

if you have problem with fual pump,than you have to do this with branded service center for cleaning up you pump cause in this model as they design pump for compactibility having short time performance so , you have to service & cleanup your pump in some miles runways,

In your particular case there is an issue with Focus fuel pump, and Ford guarantees free replacement in many countries, ask to your local dealer, to find out if you can have fuel pump replaced for free.

If you wnat to DIY, instead, buy the haynes manual, and follow step by step illustrated guide. Fuel pump replacement is not a complex operation.

Are you sure that you need to replace the pump? I drive a 54 plate mk2 1.6 zetec that wouldn't always start and I was told it was the fuel pump in the tank but because the fault was intermitant I didn't have it fitted and found out that the car didn't start because the fuel lift pump wasn't priming the system before starting. I found that there was a faulty connection on the relay for the pump that is in the compartment under the glove compartment.
