My car acts like it is out of gas. sometimes want start and other dies while running. I thought fuel was bad so removed tank and cleaned and replaced fuel filter. It has plenty of fuel pressure. when it starts to mess up while driving it all instrument gauges work but the speedometer. 8 months ago I replaced the camshaft sensor. could it be bad again or possible fuel relay or idle sensor.

The Ford trucks were recalled for the tank switch replacement. Somehow the switches would pump fuel from one tank to the other. This would cause the one tank to overflow and or result in a fire from hot exhaust temps coming into contact with the fuel. Check the dash tank switch. It is probably bad.

have you got a dimmer switch on your model to dim the dash lights. if you have it may be faulty. link the cables together if the lights work the switch is faulty. if you have not got a dimmer switch
your printed circuit on the back of the dash may be faulty or the plug in the back of the dash is not pushed all the way in. hope this helps

You have a bad "speed sensor". It's located in the transmission. Your speedometer and odometer are not cable controlled, they are electronically controlled by your speed sensor.

IF YOU REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND UNPLUG IT,PLUG IT BACK IN AND UNPLUG IT AGAIN..DO THIS A FEW TIMES..IT SHOULD CLEAN OFF SLIGHT OXIDATION ON CONNECTOR TERMINALS..HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE..I ALSO THINK REPAIR CONNECTORS AVAILABLE FROM DEALER

The plug at the back of the panel has come lose.Remove the dash panel and push plug on firmly.Hope that was helpfull.
