When I start airconditioner in my Mitsubishi lancer 1999 model car, it slows the speed and affecting like a catching. What is the reason? How can I clear it?

I would get the engine checked. Not the air/con.The air/con takes about 2 horsepower so if your motor has a big drop in power when you turn it on.Check the motor tune.Hope this helps

Loss of Power from a Mitsubishi 1.9 DiD engine

Hi, check the air filter. Have helped friends in the past who have poor running vehicles that have been regularly serviced by a garage. I looked at them, found the air filter black with dirt....totally clogged up....never been changed since new!!! Many garages seem dont seem to bother changing it when they should!!! Cars need air to work (more air than fuel) so try this. Paul
