Honda civic 2003 transmission

My 2003 honda civic (automatic transmission) has 150 000km and just started to stall. When I drive more that 100 km/h and reach a stop, the car stalls when I stop. It starts afterwards without any difficulty. It seems that it has a problem downshifting or can not gear to the 2nd or 3rd gear.

    Honda Odyssey 2002
After driving for some time and stopping at a stop sign, it will not shift from 1st to 2nd gear. If I let it go and retry the accelerator, then it works. What could be the problem?

Its possible that your transmissions Shift Solonoids could be acting erratically, either because they themselves are faulty, or the transmission's ECU is faulty, or maybe even the wiring between the two is somewhat faulty.

However it is also possible that your transmission's Speed Governor is holding too much pressure and doesn't realize it needs to downshift when you start slowing down.

Thirdly it is also possible that your Torque-Converter lockup may be siezed, or the wiring feeding it may be faulty.

Transmission repairs are usually somewhat pricey, and difficult to pinpoint, and fix, and I'm sorry to say that most of these causes to your problem really can't be checked without pulling the transmission out of the car, and disassembling it to see what the problem is.

What causes a automatic transmission to go into a false neutral 2001 Honda civic

You aren't the only one to encounter this problem. But I haven't detected a recall for this.

Check for low transmission fluid. However, you may have a failing transmission. If the fluid is dark or smells burnt, you may have such. Some suggest possible savings from installation of a used transmission or a Japanese one, if that is the case. But before such considerations, examination of diagnostic codes is the route to go. .https://honda-tech.com/how-tos/a/honda-civic-why-does-my-automatic-transmission-slip-into-false-neutral-when-warm-376007

Got a 2003 honda civic, stalled out while driving, crankshaft sensor poped up,replaced it and the cam shaft sensor

Check if you have spark at the plugs. Check for fuel at the rail. Then we can get closer to the problem.
If the car cranks ok but no start, look at the Main Relay and fuse.
hope this helps getting started.

2003 honda civic lx will start but no power trying to drive down driveway and antitheft light is on

that's a good one,
is engine RPM above or below, 2000 RPM in the A/T Drive selected
if cant get there, weak engine
if goes way highter, that is transmission slip.

the RPM is key
in the FSM see page on A/T for transmission stall test
it takes 1min, to setup, pass or fail (test is 15sec. max , never more. )

Fairly used car maintainance

Every 5,000 km.for engine oil and filter
Every 40,000 km automatic transmission, if manual needs 100,000 km
Brakes you must to inspect every 10,000 km
Coolant replace 80,000km
Suspension and others parts of the cars needs visual inspection once in a while

High fuel consumption

Check the following things: air filter, wheel alignment, and timing belt, all of them if not serviced on time can affect your fuel consumption. I do not think its the heat because I drive my car in Phoenix AZ with temperatures comparable to Dubai and I still get 500+ km/tank.

Good Luck,
