No you don't have to drain the oil, however if there is oil down where plugs are then that may be the reason for the misfire the oil blocking the spark or may actually be the cause of the coil going bad. You have another problem that needs to be taken care of if not you will have the same problem again soon. You need to change the oil seals in valve cover gasket and valve gasket to stop oil from getting on plugs.Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

I wouldnt stop short of replacing the spark plug wires as well because they are often the culprit right next to replacing spark plugs.
What kind of plugs did you purchase? I strongly recommend NGK for the future.
