Brakes brake doesn't stop,when i facing a enmergency stop??? I had drove the Ford Freestar mini van for a years,it's brake never make me feel good.so I had the brake pad replaced month ago (AP..).after that, i feel the brake is more soft,then i found it is hard to stop when i have stop it suddenly ,even doesn't feel it is stopping.I took it back,they said no thing wrong,now i don't feel save to drive it,can't follow the other car as close as it suppose to be! anyone knows Freestar mini van's brake any good.are they all like that?

    I have the same problem with mine as well. When I complained to the dealership, they also told me that it was normal and nothing wrong.

Sounds like your abs feature is in-operative(that's the one that won't allow the wheels to lock-up when the brake is applied in an emergency)the abs system should pulse your brakes during an emergency application of pressure on the pedal,i'd get to a dealer immediately (and i mean don't go anywhere else until this problem is corrected)

It sounds like you have lost air pressure to your master cylinder via a tube from your engine. Or a Immobiliser has interferred with the operation of the braking.

2004 ford freestar 4.2L engine...high pitched

this sounds odd but mine did this when i replaced the wipers. it seems the design of the wiper frame was making a whistle at higher speeds. the freestar wipers are exposed on the window cowl and not hidden so they endure the winds at high speed. it is worth a shot.

Ford freestar having cruise control and transmission problems

found the brake petel switch sticky and tapping the pettel a couple of times allowed the cruis light to stay lighted and it worked on mu 2006 freestar.

Used Van

go to parts store buy new ignition cylinder ford are easy to replace. Once you have new ignition turn on old ignition to run position just under the switch you will see a hole push in the silver pin on that hole and pull out old switch and insatll new hope that will solve your problem
