I have a 2007 5 series and went to get gas and when I was done I got in my car and push the start button and nothing, my car did not start at all everything else like the lights, radio, Bluetooth etc. I tried jump starting it, but that didn't work either so had to leave my car parked at the gas station. What could it be and what do I need to do? Thank you ~Ann~

HOW many miles on the engine (REDUX)?/? 3.5L V6 engine? or 2.5 or the Diesel??????????

let me guess the mech tested the car and it ran OKAY, so says" I can't find the problem. " ( what else")
you never told what the engine does , when it does fail and is Intermittent.
just that engine is ON. (runs)
and car does not move, sometimes.
what matters first, only when it fails, is does ENGINE RPM RISE fast and high when it fails.
see how that works, if it did the transmission is slipping (CVT are not fun here)
2500 RPM when it fails, right foot in to the throttle pedal this is transmission slip (failure)
if RPM are low failed, that is engine failure. (lean burning) or EGR stuck on or other problems , many.

lost engine power. has lots of causes; but this is gas(petrol) answer.

1: engine failing ,top cause , VVT or that chain loud noise? ?
2: spark plugs bad over 100k miles, (not diesel)
3: fueling bad, even bad fuel, or goes lean due to fuel pressure loss.(low) fuel pump weak?

it sounds like your car battery is very low or you are very low on gas. try jumpstarting your car or siphoning some gas into the gas tank.

Yes, sometimes what happens when you run out of gas, and error will come up, it normally will shut off fuel pump, and things of that sort as not to burn things out. Sometimes you get lucky and after filling take fuel cap off and put back on. Another thing I have done, is disconnected the battery, and the hooked it back up after a few minutes and the code went off like resetting it. It is nothing to overly worry about, if error is there after running out of gas, its just a error saying, HEY, you have no fuel and your pump has nothing to pump. Try first the battery disconnect thing, if not almost any auto place, can reset your computer. Thanks Mike

if freeon is low in compessor it will also do that. so check amount of freeon in system

turn the key on, do not start the vehicle. Depress and release the gas pedal three times. the light should start to blink. Turn the key off and then start the vehicle. The light should go out.

call a cab and then tomorrow call the dealer as it sounds like the immobilisor has cut in and its encrypted software so their is no quick fixya solution .

usually when there is no gas in the ac system it will not come on,
check if you have gas in the system, if not you might have a leek that needs to be solved before recharging the system with gas

leave the ignition on for upto 30 minutes this will then over ride the immpb but change battery in remote much easier check with your local toyota dealer they will tell you the sequence

throttle position sensor needs to be changed
