Misfiring and oil either in the transmission or engine control modules wicking itself from a bad selective cylinder shut-off pressure switch or a transmission conductor plug through the wiring harness

I had a cl 600 with the first run of distronic i did not like the distronic or naviagtion but engine was really sweet. i had a check engine light problem. it too 4 visits to dealer to correct. it was some emission issue the car was really sweet. i traded it on a 2004 sl 600 which i hated after a month. there was not panaromic roof and i felt cramped the car was really quick and a gas hog. i traded it for a cls 55 and now i have a cl 63.

How many miles will you get out of the v12 motor in a 1989 xjs? Im looking to buy one but it has 250000km on the clock

I would get complete set of maintenance records for that one. 250k is alot for a jag especially a V12. That one is either running on borrowed time or has been meticulously taken care of.

Toyota 2002 xl engine light stays on ,,,it has 51,000 miles we have put a pcb valve ,sea foam to clean out carbon, new air filter ,,,all seems ok other than light staying on. thank you for your time...

Take it to Auto Zone for a free engine code reading. They'll be able to tell you exactly why it's on. Sometimes it's even because your fuel cap isn't on all the way.

My 2002 Eddie bauer 2x2 Expedition has 126000 miles on it and recently had the spark plugs and coil replaced which costs a lot of money. A day after I picked it up from the dealership. The engine died...

fuel pumps are notorious for self fixing, usually towing the vehicle is enough to make it work again, they develop a flat spot in the armature and vibration usually makes it work but eventually it will die altogether

I want to know if I purchased a 1999 bmw 700 series v12 will I have a lot of engine /mech problems. It has 122k miles.

Hello there:
To be honest with you
This would have to depend on the current owner
on if he maintained it well and if he did not constantly drive it hard and if it has high mileage over 100 thousand miles if they tell you that several things have been replaced this is a thing that may tell you that this has issues also if you look at the engine and see a lot of oil everywhere or dosent look like it is in good condition this would be a turn off to me. and if a car smokes or does not run smoothly this is a nother area of concern ok if something doesnt seem right 8 out of 10 times you are right it is not ok?
Hope this is very helpful
Best regards Michael

I want to tow a 1999 Buick Regal behind 2002 Ford Explorer (4.0L V6). I am thinking of using a tow bar. Tow is 1,100 miles - one time. See any problems? What tow bar would you suggest?

Not a good plan. Rent a car dolly from u-haul or somebody.
The reason is that the wheels will move certain internal parts of the transmission that need lubrication, but that comes from the engine running the pump. That is why some towing companies that have to tow cars with the drive wheels on the ground will sometimes leave the engine running and the tranny in neutral, but that won't work for long distances

Hi i have a vw polo 2003 1.2, basically before i

that's...thirty liters or so?...10.4 liters per hundred. I'm getting 30 UK MPG...that sounds rather low for a 1.2 . it should be getting 35-40, I believe. better get yourself a tuneup if you can afford it.

2002 Toyota Prius needs new transmission

Looking at the age of the vehicle - I would not invest $5000 in it.

Look in your local business pages for second-hand parts dealers, and get a quote for small garages to do the work of replacing it.

Chances are you will find a low-milage transmission for $250, and pay around $200 to have it installed - so for $450 you're good to go again.
If this was a younger vehicle, then yes I would go through dealerships to keep the logbook perfect; But at this age it's only 3 years off it's designed lifetime, and 10 year old vehicles are very low priced.

1989 jaguar xjs v12 fuel mixture

Chances are the coolant temperature sensor or its wiring have failed, or the vacuum line to the MAP sensor is leaky or broken (I believe the V12 in '89 guise uses MAP sensors). The MAP sensor measures Manifold Absolute Pressure. Along with this pressure the ECU looks at engine RPM. It also measures air temperature. Knowing pressure and temperature we know density, and knowing engine speed tells us how much volume of air is going through the engine. All of this together is computed into air mass and is used to calculate how much fuel mass should be admitted. If the vacuum line is broken, the ECU reads less vacuum and produces rich mixture thinking that the engine is under high load.
