I had this problem with my 98. There is a relay mounted on the wheel well below the battery. There is also a relay in the ecm. The engine computer. Hope this helps.

I don't believe your particular vehicle's cooling system needs to be bled during coolant filling, but check the coolant level first. It seems that the coolant level is too low for the sensors to be able to sense the temperature, or the sensors are disconnected. Look for a connector on the intake manifold, near the coolant outlet. Ensure it is properly connected.

There was a recall years ago on the ignition switch. Something wears and causes the switch to catch and hang a little so it doesn't spring back all the way to run position. The car runs but some of the other contacts are out of line or something. On mine it only happens occasionally and if I nudge the switch backwards just a little bit the dash lights and everything start working as it should. Or just shut it off and restart. Or go ahead and replace the switch itself.

Make a drawing of where the belt and pulleys are before you remove the belt. You won't need a diagram, you will have made your own and be done before you ever find one, unless you have a shop manual already.
