I purchased a passenger power heated mirror for my 2001 Toyota Avalon. It does NOT have memory and has only five wires. The car is set up for power heated mirrors WITH memory and has I believe eight wires. I tried wiring up the same colors and it did not work. Any ideas? The five wires are red, yellow, black, black, and green. Thanks.

My email address is [email protected]. I will look forward to getting the wiring diagram. There is no white wire by the way -- perhaps the two black wires serve this purpose... I noticed on the old broken mirror that the two black wires went to the deffoger.Thanks.

I understand that the two black wires are for the mirror heater. However, I need to know how to hook up the other wires so the mirror will work with the power mirror switch. Thanks.

2001 Avalon cigarette lighter has no power, 5A fuse is okay, instrument panel works, although I think the light for the glove compartment is also out

There are 2 common problems for this, 1 is the power connecting wire to the lighter housing falls off, or if the wire is connected and has power, the lighter unit itself has an internal open circuit and needs to be replaced.

I have a 2001 Avalon. The battery is completely dead & I cannot open the hood. Can you tell me how I can open the hood so I can put jumper leads onto the battery?

I believe The hood release for a Toyota Avalon located right below the power mirror control button on the left side of the steering wheel. It has a lever that you can pull out to release the hood. The lever is part of the dash component. I hope this is correct and works. Thanks mike

How do I replace a side view mirror, passenger side on a 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS?

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then the cover for the mirror housing should pop off and you just need to remove the bolts holding the mirror on
