Check the fuse first,on the fuse block! This circuit is protected with a fuse! Some times the cigar lighter will blow the fuse by shorting out the circuit! You may need to replace the lighter!

Testimonial: "That's kinda what I thought, but its great to hear a second opinion. Thanks!"

Where does cigarette lighter fuse go on a 2010 ford focus

The cigarette lighter/power outlets on a 2010 Ford Focus are referred to as, "power points." The are two power points on this vehicle, designated as power point 1 and power point 2. Power point 1 is powered by fuse #15 (20A) while power point 1 is powered by fuse #3 (20A), both of which are located in the battery junction box at the left rear of the engine compartment. Cigarette lighter on 2004 Grand Prix isn't working.

The lighter socket or the element.
Check the element for burn marks and the socket for debris blocking the contacts.

Cigarette lighter ans accessour power point not working... it's not the fuse

I had a similar problem I thought it wasn't the fuse because I had only checked one but there are two cigarette fuses. Also you can replace the whole cigarette lighter if it is getting power to it. If it isn't there might be a bad wire leading to it. Get a test light to see if it's getting power through the fuses hole.

WHERE IS FUSES FOR CIGARETTE LIGHTERS LOCATED

Should be under the steering wheel like any other car. There is a box. Just open up the box (You may need to pry off the cover with a flat head screw driver). I own a 91 Explorer and there is a diagram right on the back of the cover along with a fuse pulling tool. The owners manual will also have a diagram. Look for the terms "Accessory", "Lighter", "Socket" etc. Any Ford I've ever seen supplies power to the cigarette lighter even when the car isn't running so it will be easy to test.

How to open the hood on a 2005 suzuki forenza with a dead battery

I know this isn't a standard "fix" but what we do is to use a cigarette lighter to cigarette lighter jump start.

While this type of "jumper" doesn't work very well to start a vehicle, it does get you power enough to open the hood and other electronic openers.

Trying to find fuses for cigarette lighter

it should be in the fuse box under the hood or under the dash, if you can't find it there it may be at the back of the cigarette lighter itself, if the cigarette lighter isn't working it may be the element, try plugging something else into the socket to see if there is power there....hope this helps.....cheers

Cigarette lighter power source not working!

By all means, ck all your fuses first. Sometimes they blow if someone holds the lighter in.

Cigarett lighter power

The power wire for your socket is connected to the ignition switch. For the socket to operate without the key, the power wire must be relocated to a direct power source or directly to the battery. You can locate a "hot" source by using a 12Volt tester on the terminals of the fuse box. Just touch the tester to the terminals until one lights up without the key on. That terminal is "hot" and will allow your socket to have power at anytime. You should use a power source with a fuse for safety. You can hook directly to the battery but you should add a fuse inline to be safe.
