First, look at the coils see if the towers are numbered. Each coil fires 2 cylinders!
look on intake manifold for fireing order display! The v6 engine fires from one bank across to the other in a straight line example, cylinders 1&2 3&4 and 5&6 at the rear of the engine or farthest right side. 1&2 left side faceing engine 3&4 in the middle. All you need to do is find cylinder # 1 hook up the # 1 wire to the # 1 coil tower to the # 1 plug or cylinder, follow the fireing order 123456,its simple if you cant see coil tower numbers look at another car with same engine that has distributor less ignition. The coil pack for the 4 cylinder gm has plug wire terminals or towers numbered as well.Only in a harder place to see like behind and underneath!

My problem is to put back cords on distributor, I dont know how.Help

So you took them all off at once and don't know where they go? Two things you must know. One, what the firing order is, and two, which spark plug is which number. The easy fix is buy a shop manual. It will have a picture of how the cylinders are numbered, and the firing order.

Truck is not firing on 3 cylinders yet it runs.. Runs really rough, back fires, under powered.. Plugs are Wet, Firing order is correct. New Spark plug cables. Don't know that is wrong! Please Help

Check for spark at the plug ( may have coil problem).
If spark is good then do a compression check. Pressure shouldn't be less than 75% of known good cylinders.

I have a 1998 VW jetta I'm trying to change the spark plugs. I know the wiring order and the firing order. I just don't know how to tell if the engine is in the right position to be lined up with the...

If your trying to change spark plugs remove one wire from a plug, replace that plug, reinstall the wire onto that plug and move on to the next plug. You don;t need to worry about firing order unless you plan on changing the wires or the cap and rotor. Even if you where to change the wires if you did them one at a time than the new ones would be in the exact same place as the old ones and there is nothing to worry about,

How do you properly replace spark plugs in a 96 dodge stratus?

pull off plug grabbing it as close to spark plug as you can. Using socket rotate counterclockwise and remove plug. Be careful putting plugs back in and thread by hand first. Then torque as plug box says as it depends on if you have a washer or not.

Firing Order diagram for 2006 Ford Explorer

Hope this helps. The ignition coil:
  • changes low-voltage pulses from the PCM to high-voltage pulses.
  • fires 2 spark plugs simultaneously.
  • has 3 transformers.
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 5
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 2 and 6
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 3 and 4
Spark plug wires:
  • carry high-voltage pulses from the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
The spark plugs:
  • change high-voltage pulses to spark at the gap, which ignites the fuel and air mixture.
The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6.
