I have invested almost $1,320's from going back and forth with my mechanic, to fix the SRS light. Upon doing that he found other reasons has to why the light is not going off. him fixing everthing else is what made the totally price so high. Right after I picked it up from him took it straight to do emission but it fialed due to the computer readiness and was not picking up anything. The Emissions guy said maybe its cuz I just got it back, that the codes need to reclear. Had it back for almost 3 weeks now, the check engine light is back on. So went out and got a scanner so i can clear the check engine light. did that today took it back to same emmision place and the guy tells me the computer is still not picking the codes up. Engine light on 2007 jeep liberty

This light could be on for many reasons, this light comes on when the computer sees the engine is not running right or sensor reading is out of specs, you will need to have the computer scanned for codes, these codes will tell you in which system the problem is in, sometimes it can tell you very close to what the problem is, a loose gas cap can make this light light up or a faulty sensor or bad sparkplug and on and on, so start with the scan, autozone the auto parts store and others will scan the computer and give you a print out of the codes, for example a po301 code, if you get the codes i can help you find the problem, hope this helps.

you will need to drive about 50 miles till the computer checks the system since it was reset. Your check engine light may come back again, if it does run a vacum test..
