More than likely a burnt bulb in cluster.

Not if it's only on one side and the other side is lit, as both lights would go thru the same fuse. Most likely a bulb.

Where are the interior lights that light up the inside of car at night so I can see inside of car

Without the make/model of car it is impossible to advise you specifically.

Most cars without some lights still have interior lights that light up when you open the door. Look at those lit lights and see if there is a switch on them or else there will be a button somewhere on the dashboard.

1996 nissan maxima wont start, windows wont roll and dashboard caution lights and icons not lighting up when i turn the key. the turn signals also arent working but they do with the hazard lights on. car...

I think your ignition switch has quit working, or it has stopped getting power. If you pull the connector apart to the ignition switch and check if there is one wire on the harness side of the connector that has power, it sure looks like a bad ignition switch. One fat wire, about 12 gauge size, going into the switch should be hot at all times. If you have it, pretty obvious that power is not going out of the switch. key on should send power out of the switch to the fuses for the windows and other accessories, and also send power to the dash for the warning lights and gauges.
Power to the switch will be either from one of your fusible links near the battery or from a maxi fuse in the fuse/relay block under the hood. The funny action of the key kind of points to the ignition switch, though. Still, check for power into the switch first.

Taillights go out when dome light is on

I'm not an expert on the electrical part of the 04 maxima. But I noticed on one of the websites I normally visit that it could be a blown bulb on the passenger side vanity mirror. Here's the quote:

2004 Maxima Tail Lights and Parking Lights fuse blows when interior dome light is on Discovered that my tail lights and parking lights fuse (next to the window washer box which took me a couple of hours to find!) would blow everytime I turned interior dome light on. First I thought it was my Ipod and then maybe moisture was getting in through a small crack in the left rear tail light. Sat in my car last night with a box of fuses and did everything one at a time. It was the turning on of my dome light that caused the fuse to blow. It was instant. I have a blown bulb in the passenger side vanity sun-viser flap. I will change that tomorrow and post an update.

He hasn't updated on the results of changing his vanity mirror bulb. I hope this helps...I hate car electrical problems...So hard to diagnose...

How do i fix my dashboard lights on my 1986 chevy nova?

Turn the light switch on and check your tail lights. Back then the tail and dash lights work on the same circuit inside the headlight switch so if one was out so was the other. If this is the case you need a new headlight switch. If not, there should be a fuse in your panel marked "instr". that's for the dash lights. Hope this helps.

How do i put on my headlights at night and still have my dashboard light on

I'm not absolutely sure on this model, because I have no references, but on earlier Toyota products (Lexus) On the dash on the lower left side is going to be a small knob about 1/2-3/4 in in diameter.
That is what controls the brightness of the dash lights on your vehicle. Rotating it clockwise should make it brighter. You should also notice other lighted areas brighten on the dash as well.

The yellow light on the left hand side of the dashboard is lit up. I believe its the top one on the left hand side. what could this refer to. Thank you for your help. PS. Vehicle is a 2010 Toyota...

You need to stop by a local parts store like Autozone, Advance, etc and have them do a free OBC scan for you. They'll come out to your car, plug in scanner, read the fault codes, print them out for you then reset you light(s) all for FREE Just noticed it's 2010 - isn't it under the super Toyota warranty - heck let them do it>

How to take out instrument cluster in 2000 buick century odometer lights out

The instrument cluster in the 2000 Buick Century features an analog odometer that is back-lit, making it possible to see during night driving. Over time this light has a tendency to burn out, which can make for unsafe night driving as the driver will not be able to see all of the information usually at his disposal while driving. Replacing this light takes some time and requires you to be careful when disconnecting the wiring harnesses.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderate Instructions

  1. Pry off the fuse box over on the passenger side and then remove the screw inside with a screwdriver.
  2. 2 Unscrew the screw on the far right side of the dash panel and then remove the panel.
  3. 3 Remove the two screws underneath the temperature controls and then pry off the plastic trimming.
  4. 4 Unscrew the one screw on the dash panel underneath the steering wheel.
  5. 5 Disconnect the wiring harness from behind the interior panel and then pry off this entire panel.
  6. 6 Unscrew the four screws around the instrument panel.
  7. 7 Pull out the instrument panel and disconnect the wiring harness on the back of it.
  8. 8 Twist the back of the bulb counterclockwise and then pull it out.
  9. 9 Unscrew the old lightbulb and then screw in the new one.
  10. 10 Reverse the steps to reassemble your dashboard.

01 Hyundai Elantra - Cruise Control Doesn't Work w/ Headlights On

I had same problem (cruise control/dashboard lights) for the past month with my 2000 Elantra. Replace the tail lights bulbs - my problem was caused by a problem with the double filament within the bulb. Essententially, there was a short when I turned on the lights or hit the brakes.

I did this last night and everything is working properly now.

The dashboard light does not come on at night

check your dimmer knob, it should be on your left hand side on your dash board, turn on your lights then turn it, if that does not solve the problem check your fuses
