Open your door with key, then open middle console and there is a lil square (key fob size) put the key fob in it and then hit the ignition button and it should start............I read this somewhere and it saved my life.......also for battery in key fob, I went to lock and key place and they have a battery tester and told me the # battery I needed and bought key fob battery from pharmacy (energizer) for $1.49

Some late model fobs contain electronics beyond the push buttons.
Batteries are replaceable...small screws may let you do this.
If the battery is not the cause....a replacement fob may be expensive. A road service technician can probably troubleshoot and replace cheaper than dealer !

Mine is doing this too--saying "no key fob detected."
How do you check the fob battery to know if this is the problem? My car (purchased used) has multiple electronics issues and I'm wondering if it's a fob battery issue or related to other nuisance electrical bugs I've got going on. (Hood ajar warning when it ISN'T ajar; check theft system; check stability system, etc...) I can't lock the car or the alarm goes off thinking there was a theft attempt.

I have a 2006 STS Cadillac that is no longer recognizing the fob.

Either the fob batteries are low, or the antennae that gets the signal has an issue. Find a local alarm installer / radio installer or auto locksmith. The can test and/or replace the batteries and check the system with a pro grade scan tool computer..

My 2008 cadillac sts wont start. I continue to get

fobs have lost SYNC with security system of the car.

You will need to have new batteries for fobs and go thru the GM sequencing procedure of the ignition and the keys.

2006 Cadillac STS driver side door lock doesn't activate when I approach the car (as it's supposed to). Key fob also doesn't activate the lock or unlock features. All other doors and trunk operate...

It actually sounds like the micro switch in the drivers door that reads the key fob is bad, if the key works and the fob works on the other doors and the trunk. You will most likely need to have the door handle replaced, they're not very expensive by themselves but it can be a lot of work. My key fob has quit working and it tells me no key fob detected. My car is a 2006 Caddie STS. Both fobs have stopped working.

Mine did the same thing. I put the fob into the reprogramming slot located in the center console and was able to get it started by leaving the in the slot. Hope it works for you.

NO FOB DETECTED

Slight glitch from what I've found. Has happened to me at the gas pump. One other time while talking outside my car with out opening the doors. If No FOB detected then step out of the car lock and unlock, get back in and try. If still dosen't detect then you need to walk twenty feet away with your key and it should reset.
