Blend door mixes hot and cold, not a distribution control. Look for loose or dislodged vac lines... Heater designed to fail in defrost mode.

  • Randy Ohler May 31, 2015

Most times the vacuum lines breaks under the hood. It is routed on the passenger side and goes into the harness. If it breaks inside the harness(which they do sometimes) it is easier to run a new line than find the break. Push it threw a rubber boot or drill a hole in the firewall. Tape the new hose where it goes threw the firewall for better protection. splice it near the controller.

Heater blows out of defroster and floor vents no where else no matter where switch is set

Three things come to mind.
Defective door actuator.
Broken door.
Faulty switch.

Have someone operate the controls while you look up at the motors(at least three) blend, recirculation, and vent control.
observe the motors inaction you might be able to see the axles on them move. if all of them move, the door is at fault. Requiring dash and vent assy removal for repairs.

Air conditioning blows cold on drivers side but warm air on passengers side.

dodge has dual blend door actuators on the air box. you have to pull the dash board assembly out to access the passenger side door actuator. it calls for 5.8 hours to do this job. you also have to evacuate and recharge the ac system.

I have the same problem. Solve. The passenger side vents on my Dodge ram 2004 deisel blows warm and the driver's side vents blows cold.

Sounds like you have a bad blend door actuator, or a bad control unit. Need to have it checked to find out which it is.

2003 Dodge Ram 4.7, AC barely blows except for floor vents that blow hard. Am told there are four vent actuators? Fuses all good in panel.

Could be a bad recirc door housing, or a bad mode door actuator. There are not four vent actuators. I do see alot of recirc door housings break, and cause the problem you describe.
