there is no problem on it if you take two cars like corola 1.6 and lancer 1.6 cvt they will give you same time when accelerate from 0 to 180 but the problem came from felling it's heavy and other car light because other car have many gears in transmision like manual but lancer cvt only one gear with different point

Im pretty sure I ran my 2011 cvt mitsubishi lancer out of gas but after putting in 2gallons it had a couple rough starts but won't start at all now

There still may not be enough gas in it. When you run a vehicle completely dry it takes a quite a bit to get it running again. You have to get the gas all the way through the gas lines and to the motor. Try turning your key over just a notch (not so to start it). That will turn your fuel pump on. Give it a few minutes. Do not push on the gas more than a few times. If that does not work you may need more gas

Could it be the booster

check your push rod going from the pedal to the booster a quick way is to pull the vaccum hose and see if they release the vaccum not being released can cause sticky problems also check your vaccum hose also

Keeps shutiing off when Im not pushing the gas.

It's important to adjust the pedal in this case. On the floor near the pedal there should be a nob or other adjustment. Turn or crank it until it is tighter, you should notice this moving the gas pedal closer to the floor. The only down side to doing this is that when you floor your pedal, you won't go as fast.

What is the throttle position sensor? my 2003 jeep delays starting unless i pump gas pedel. delay start is around 5 sec of grinding starter, with gas smell. fuel filter and pump are ok.

Believe it or not pumping the fuel pedal is no help. This is a fuel injection system not the old carburetor type. the throttle position sensor is a sensor to tell the computer were the fuel pedal is at it is sensing how much you are pushing it to send fuel to the throttle body.

does sound like you have a leak down problem after sitting a while you may still have a fuel pump concern

Looking to buy an 09 lancer. A little leary about the CVT tranny. I have 25 years Ford and GM experience but not much about CVTs. Would appreciate any input

I was a little leary myself when i bought the my 08 lancer gts cvt. I have only owned it for three months and has a little over 51000 km on but havent had any problems with it. You will be very impressed with the smooth operation of the cvt, the sprotronic and paddle shifters are amazing and work beautifully. I would recommend it over a regular five speed or a rough changing auto tranny. Besides the fact you should have proper warm up for it to work in colder temps(which is good for all trannys anyways) and the special transmission fluid needed. Fewer components and operates much like a snomobile belt drive system which i thought might affect gas mileage but i got a suprising 42mpg at 100km/hr. Towing anything might be an issue with this transmission since its a belt drive system(small camper or travel trailer) but im not to certain about that.So far so good......i would get another one!

Lancer problem

I have the same problem.... It is an easy thing to fix. What it is, is the cable has jamed up in the casing, but you can manually pull and push the cable. On the drivers side of the car under the steering wheel above the gas/brake pedals there should be a bunch of wiring. To the right of all the wiring and mess there should be a cable if you reach in far enough. It will probablly take you a while to find it. It would most likley be surrounded by white plastic. once you find the cable you can pull it and push it, When you do pull/push it you will see the knob turn on your console.

I posted a video on youtube.
