The problem with 2002 nissan altima is ,whenever the battery terminal is removed, the car wont accelerate,so i used my scanner to detect the faults, and it shows me some fault codes,e.g. ( u1000,u1001,P1490,P0650,P0037,P0113,P0462,P0447).When i wiped the faults code, the car will accelerate,But when i remioved the battery terminal again,it wont accelerate and the fault code will generate again. What is the possible permanent solution.thanks.

Your continually removing the battery terminal is what is causing the problem
the ECM cpu program is continually being corrupted by the terminal removal and when you wipe the codes ( read it as reset the ECM) it works fine until you touch the terminal again
permanent solution is ---leave the battery terminal alone

SOURCE: engine codes

These are Canadian DTCs diagnostic trouble codes. This codes mean a lack of connumication. This are different than American OBII codes.Hope this helps try gooling Canadian Troule Code and writing down the U codes. I hope this helps you. Please vote if you find this helpful.

The U1000 and U1001 mean that there is no communication between the engine control unit and another control units that are part of the CAN system (Controller Area Network) or that at some point there was no communication. Before do any repairs with the U1000 and U1001 codes, the factory recommend repairing any other problems in the car.

SOURCE: 02 ultima troble codes u1000

These 2 codes indicate a communications problem within the CAN (Controller Area Network). The CAN network malfunction per Chilton lists 3 possible causes:

  • CAN connector is damaged or is disconnected
  • CAN communication line is open, shorted to ground or to power
  • One of the modules is shorted and pulling the CAN voltage low
I hope this helps narrow down your problem. Best of luck to you.

SOURCE: no start cranks ok .trouble shoot code shows u1000

Those codes are can communication codes that help each system talk to each other. You may find that it needs a new crank sensor. The 2.5 liter engine had some issues with crank sensors.

Maint. light is on ??? 2000 nissan sentra ,runs good , but maintaince light is on . how to turn it off ?

there may be an error detected by the car's computer. try first to remove one of the battery terminals for 1-2mins. after bringing it back, check if the light is still on. If it is you need to have a scanner to run some diagnostics to detect the error and perform troubleshooting depending on the error.

2002 nissan altima wont crank?

Check the transmission neutral start inhibit switch is not the cause of your problem. (try both 'P' to 'N' positions).
If the headlights work ok there should be enough power in the battery to at least make a solenoid type noise when start is attempted- so it may not be caused by a faulty alternator.
Check the battery terminals are clean and firmly attached to the battery,
Check battery is properly grounded to the chassis and motor,
Check that +12v is available at the starter motor engage solenoid when the ignition switch is held in the 'start' position - check any start slave relay operation.
If all above is OK, you may have a faulty starter motor.
