main head bolts - 1st step-70NM, 2nd step-70NM, 3rd step-60-75 degrees turn angle, 4th step-60-75 degrees
make sure you use new bolts. The smaller head bolts 25NM. Mains 166Nm, big ends 1st step-30Nm, 2nd step-45-60 degrees turn angle
This is for vin j, the vin is important.
1st step--3.7 ft lbs
2nd step--11 ft lbs
3rd step--26 ft lbs
4th step-- turn 75 degrees
install new bolts and lubricate with engine oil.
it may be from failing engine mounts allowing the engine to misalign the drive shaft under acceleration and allowing problems in the cv joints or "U" joint

Sounds like a bad speed sensor. Perform an ODBII scan soon. ECU should delay upshift until coolant temp senses warm up. It will not work right unless a signal is present from speed sensor.
Well gas mileage depends on alot of things first do you have the very common 350 cid small block or the 454 cid big block,2nd Do you drive like around the speed limit or do you go way faster?3rd Do you do mostly highway or in town driving?4th Is it 2wheel drive or 4 wheel drive?Well your average around town for the 350cid motor around town would be about 15 and on the highway 18. If you have the 454cid you would get about 11 around town and about 15 on the highway these figures are also figuring in that the vehicle is tuned up properly.
It seems that you have a vaccuum leak around the intake or carb, Check all hoses for good connections. You can spray carb. and choke cleaner around the intake and carb whole it is running and if the engine rise and lowers. you have a leak
If the car rev'd up but did not speed up at the same time the clutch is starting to slip. Check the adjustment and recheck driving. When the clutch starts to wear this is how they act, only most people ignore whats happening and keep driving till adjustments won't fix it and the clutch has to be replaced. Have adjustment checked and keep an eye on it and hopefullty you won't need a clutch yet.
