Hi,\r\n My vw beetle 1.6 petrol stops taking the gas when driving and then engine would cut off. Sometimes, it jerks when accelerated as if something is blocked somewhere. The VAG error code is p16725. The car has just had a fuel pump filter changed and fuel pump relay changed. Could you please help re what is causing this problem, what the error code mean and how this problem can be sorted. Many thanks

vw2000 (2.0)
Blinking engine lt. Poor performance-barely make it up a hill.
Mechanic said bad O2 sensor--Replaced--had same problem-
Used "ADVANCED AUTO" Diagnostic meter---FREE FREE FREE
Code read MISFIRE
Replaced COIL pack!!!!!!!!!
Returned to Advance auto to clear codes---
NO CHECK engine light --runs like new
Believe the COIL pack went bad causing the sensor to clog and go bad--Probably could have just cleaned it.
Cost $200 parts and free labor>LOTS of bad words, gerasy hands and good running car
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE

SOURCE: 1998 beetle - how to get the fuel filter off

The fuel lines are pressurized so you will need to relieve the pressure before you try and remove the filter or you will get a face full of gas. The filter comes off by pushing the fuel line toward the filter and then pushing the quick release button on the fuel line. The fuel line should then decouple - the filter lives under the car near the right rear tire (just in front) Good luck and be careful

2008 Nissan Champ 1400 is jerking and cuts off when I accelerate to 50 kph. After it cut off it take time to start again.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Nissan.

There is some ideas in the link, but you need to find someone in South Africa that has a scan tool computer. Dirty injector from bad fuel is the most likely. Check the spark plugs as well.

2002 Beetle Engine cuts out after it warms up for a few hours.

Hello,
my advise to you is that:
Your VW problem is the throttle body, (good news) it doesn't need replacement, it only needs to be cleaned out, and even better if a good technician (know what he is doing) can run an adaptation procedure.
this will restore the ZERO position for the TPS and relearn the target engine idle speed.
Good luck.
Note: you are in my prayer.

2001 VW Beetle Will not start

Hi.
Check the heavy duty cables from the battery to the starter motor and solenoid and also the battery earthing (grounding?) - there terminals could be corroded / burned.

Hope this helps you a bit. If it does, a "Fixya" rating would be much appreciated. If it doesn't
help you, I'd be grateful if you didn't bother with a rating at all. Just come back and tell me what you found. Cheers, D
