2001 mitisuubishi galant when the AC is used the carpet under driver seat fills with water.

usually Under carpet .water, remove the left foot step look Under carpet follow the orange wire and the plug too.for corroded wires

For a 2000, it's more likely is that there's rust in the floor under the carpet. There are several drain plugs (approx. 30mm, actually filling manufacturing alignment holes) that often rust out. Fixing it requires that the seat be removed, the carpets lifted up and the rust cleaned / treated. New drain plugs can be made with some 20g steel sheet. They are usually pressed in, but can be glued with automotive gunk adhesive and sealed underside with stone guard spray. If there is real rust in the floor panel, cut out and reweld is required.

if the water is on the drivers side only ,you need a mechanic to put a gasket around the outside drain of the a/c this will stop the water from going back into the car.tell him to possibly use a material for windshield installation

Pull the seat back out and check your wires. Some may be ran under your carpet. Sounds like you slpiced a wire and its grounding on the floor pan under the seat.

the ac drain is clogged up,so it does not drain outside,check pass.side-pull carpet away from fire wall and padding should be wet

Have your ac evaporator deain cleaned out or checked. Without this working the ac water will collect there.

You have drain blockage in the condesor case itself. There is a small tube that will drain the condensor case, the big black plastic case that contains most of your a/c system inside the car. This case collects moisture and that must drain normally from the case drain to the outside of your car onto the ground.. If this drain is plugged, you will have leakage on to the floor. If the moisture is allowed to remain in the carpet, mildew will set in and then you will have to replace the carpet.

I have the same exact problem.....1999 Galant! The water is in the center of the floor board and also under the seat to the back floor board!!

Forget about looking where the drip hose exits under the car, it's inaccessible. It drove me crazy for awhile looking for it. Rather, on the inside, pull down the carpet beside and behind the accelerator pedal and that will reveal a hard plastic elbow that connects the bottom of the ac unit and the firewall where it connects to the drain tube. Take a 1/4" brad point bit and drill a hole into the elbow. Stick a blow gun in it and voila instant relief. Have a towel ready to catch the stinky water as it comes out. Most of it though should pee onto the ground as it should. Find a small lab cork or small rubber stopper and stick it the hole you drilled to finish the job. You can remove it to do the job again when next you have a soaked floor on the passenger side and hear that whooshing noise behind the glovebox on a left turn!
