For some reason fuel is getting in to the crankcase; not good as the gasoiline will thin down the oil. A couple things come to mind: leaking injectors, as the cars sits the fuel leaks and passes thru the rings in to the oil, failed fuel regulator, if this has failed the fuel pressure may be off causung the injectors to spray too much at start, also with the failed regulator gas may leak in to a vacuum line (I'd check this) Failing ECU (not too uncommon) ECU is having injector open too mucj dumping in excess fuel.
Please let me know if I may help you further.
Thanks,
Tom

I keep smelling like something is burning on my car everytime i drive it i know that they told me that all these were leaking. the timing cover seal, valve cover gaskets, and the oil pan gaskets

The probable cause is oil dripping onto the exhaust and being burnt. This puts the valve cover gasket as the prime suspect as the other two areas are lower down

Oil smells like gas

You should have no need to replace a timing belt unless the timing belt itself is damaged. However it is a generally good idea to replace a timing belt, whenever you take it off, just as a general preventative maintenance. But yes, when oil smells like gas it can mean it's your head gasket, however while you've got it apart, be sure to check your other gaskets as well, as they may start becoming faulty soon too.

Getting gas smells and misfiring on a 2000 chevy venture. what might be the problem? was told not running on 2 of the 6 cylinders could that be the only problem? i am being told its something else

first off you have to fix the misfire problem before you can do anything else,as a misfire will cause a fuel smell because you have 2 cylinders acting like a raw fuel pump ,by the fuel entering the cylinder not burning a being pumped out unburned.so you have to find out why it is your six cylinder car is only running on 4 cylinders and repair the problem.then you can go from there if you have to,also you will have to change the oil as it will have fuel in the oil which thins out the oil to a point it does not do it`s job and could ignite in the oil pan causing other problems

Burning oil smell in my 2000 bmw 528i

possible valve cover leaking,at least this is more likely the cause, they make a die that you can use too help determine where it is leaking but some dies require ablack light too see the die,

Oil smells like gas

sometime you will get this smell if you go a little over your oil change time of every 3000 miles also check when you replace the PVC valve normally in top of the valve cover gasket cause this will cut back on the ventilation that is needed to go through your engine if you take it off and it rattles it is still good but if it has been a while since you changed it it would be a good idea to change it also
