This Code is for a fuelrail pressure sensor. It would explain why you can not exceed 3000RPM. One way or the other the pressure is either too low or too high or the sensor is bad.

You can get a free diagram by registering your car with Autozone.com.

look in owners manual under fuses

I am sorry but our diagrams only go back as far as the 2004 model year. I suggest you try eBay for a used owners manual.

They'll usually be offset just a hair, and I mean a hair. If it's a tooth off, it's wrong. Make sure the mark on the oil pump is lined up with the MARK on the gear, not the tooth. I think the mark is actually lined up with the trailing edge of the tooth.

Free Repair Manual for 2001-2004 pt cruisers. It has tons of information with pictures. It saved me when i had to change my serpentine belt.
