If you changed the engine go back to where changed it and tell them it fails.

My 2004 Dodge Stratus will not start I just put a new alternator and battery in it and the mechanic told me that the engine is locked how do I unlock the engine

huh ..
you can change a battery and an alternator any time
with out "locking " the engine

does the motor crank over ?
check starter motor
check spark at plugs and fuel to injector rail

if it wont crank or start start .. then there are other issues
that may or may not have been caused by low voltage
before the battery and alternator was replaced

if the engine light is on there will be fault codes to read

I have 2005 I changed the starter and battery good but it still won't start

First does it crank, if it does then check to see if the fuel injectors are getting fuel.....could be a fuel pump...

second....if there is nothing when you turn the key and the battery is good and the starter was replaced...it could be a bad ground.....thats the ground coming off your battery and goes to your chassis of the car.........let me know how you make out.

Wont start...

Need to check the condition of the battery. Use a volt meter and check the voltage before trying to start the motor. Have someone to try to start the motor while you check the voltage on battery at the same time. If the voltage dropps to either a 10 or less, replace the battery. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace it. Hope this will help you.

My 2005 dodge stratus will not atart i get not

on an 05 more than likely it is the original battery.. first have the battery checked at auto zone or pep boys, they will for it for free, that and don't listen to that person.. your describing a typical bad battery on a newer car... tell he needs to by a new car himself.. they have electric fuel pumps and that is the last sound you hear before your starter engages... the starter takes so much juice to turn over an engine compared to a fuel pump that it just does nothing afterward.

2001 dodge stratus turn key to start, wont do a thing changed battery checked starter done what is the problem?but for awhile it starts weird ha HELP

first off does the car have an anti theift system?
Also make sure that the starter is getting 12 volts on the large wire, put multi-meter on the S term/purple or small wire on the starter try to start the car and make sure you are getting voltage there also. I'll recheck this post later on to see how you are doing.

2001 Dodge Stratus wont start

first you want to make sure your engine is not seized, do this byy taking a wrench and turning the engine manually with the crank shaft, thats the one all the ay on the bottom, if it does not move your engine seized.

if it is not seized, check all of your battery cables to make sure they are not corroded or greasy, as an extra measure you may want to clean the neg cable at the block to make sure it is getting connection.
