It sounds like you have a blown head gasket, check your engine oil, take off your oil cap and if it is frothy around the cap and inside the head, you have a blown head gasket.
It depends if the Serpentine Belt is worn or not, i.e. cracked, glazed, dryed out. If it is good and the belt is still squealing than it may be a bad Belt Tensioner, which is not keeping the belt properly tensioned. (Loose Belt) Replacing the Belt will not solve the problem of the car running hot. You will need to fix the Electric Fan that is not working, because if you keep on running the car hot all the time you may blow the Head gasket to your engine which will cost you about $800-1100 dollars to repair.
Sounds like your FANS aren't working correctly or you are low on coolant,or dirt in radiator or air blockage in the fins. You DO have at least a 50% antifreeze solution in there,right? don-ohio
You are right. It is air leaking. You either have a vacuum line off the engine, or a leaking gasket in the intake manifold area. It could also be your PVC valve is out of it's grommet in the valve cover. You can locate the leak with the car running by using a mechanic's stethoscope. Just use it WITHOUT the metal pickup rod and diaphragm. Probe the open tube end around areas that sound like they leak or whistle. You can also use a can of carb spray. Just carefully spray around gasket surfaces and when the engine rpm raises, you've found it. Be very careful around a hot engine so you don't start a fire using this method.
