CHECK FUEL INJECTOR FUSE IF FUSE OKAY PROBLEM COULD BE PCM BUT HAVE CAR CODE SCAN TO LOOK FOR CMP OR CKP SENSOR FAULTS.THEY ALSO CONTROL FUEL INJECTORS AND IGNITION COILS FIRING.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville that hasn't been started in a couple of years and I went to start it and it will crank but it started for about 1 minute and shut off, what could be causing it

It will take some testing to be sure but start with the fuel system. Make sure you are getting fuel to the engine. You can carefully spray a little carb cleaner into the intake while the car is cranking, if it runs you have a fuel problem. Next, spark. You need to verify that you are getting a solid spark at the plugs. A weak spark is not good and could be due to the voltage in the battery. Air & timing are all that's left if you have fuel and a hot spark. SIDE NOTE: fuel system/lines/filter blocked, battery voltage dropped below 9.5 Volts are 2 possibilities after sitting a while.

I was driving my 1993 grand am se down the free way and lost all power but not the lights or electric inside the car and now it won't start

Probably lost either spark or fuel. First try some starting fluid into the throttle body (take off the big air boot) and see if the engine tries to run on it. If it does, you need to see if the fuel pump quit working. Best is to check fuel pressure-autozone and others rent or loan fuel pressure gauges. If pressure is not there with key on, likely a bad fuel pump. (you should hear the pump turn on for 2 seconds when turning the key to on, not start-this will pressurize the lines up to the fuel rail and to the injectors. Listen for the pump to turn on.)

If you have gas up to the engine, and the starting fluid caused nothing, check for spark. Buy a spark tester from a parts store and check for spark on 2 or 3 spark plug wires. If no spark, the ignition system went out. This is often due to the Crank Position Sensor or the Ignition Control Module.

Changed fuel filter on 2002 pontiac grand am and wont start

Changing a fuel filter had nothing to do
with your no start

Do you have fuel pressure at the motor?

Do you have spark & injector pulse?

Battery Fail-- test it

2001 pontiac grand will not start all of a sudden. ran fine this

The problem may be the security issue. Do you see a security light? Dust gets into the ignition tumbler and causes a bad contact with the sensor prompting a false security issue.

I had the same problem and thought it was a fuel pump issue, but after a $500 replacement ordeal, I later encountered the same issue again.

To resolve:
Insert the key and turn on ignition tumbler to ACC on (Position prior to engaging the starter)
Wait around ~15-20 minutes (The security light will change... I believe it will flash when the security reset...it's been a long time...sorry)
Afterward, turn the ignition tumbler and off
Your card should start there after

Tumbler maintain: Blow some compress air to prevent this incident from happening.

Hopefully this will resolve your issue without the need of spending any further $$$!

Did your check the ignition coil? These tend to go quite suddenly.
