My 2006 h3's keyless remote system wont open the doors, the batteries are good, checked them at an autostore.

  • Anonymous Aug 23, 2010

Thank You, once again the remote is operational. At the auto stor they had a kiosk that allows you to test your remote to see if you need a new battery. I pointed my remote at the kiosk and it worked so I didn't get a new battery.

Try this solution out to get your keyless remote system to open your 2006 Hummer H3 door

1. Close all the vehicle doors.
2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder - do not turn ignition switch.
3. Press and hold the DOOR unlock switch (This is the switch on the door, NOT the remote).
4. While holding the DOOR lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF two or three times. If the door lock clicks after the second ON, OFF cycle do not do it a third time.
5. Release the DOOR unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock one time to confirm the program mode is activates.
6. Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button on one keyless remote for approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
7. Repeat the previous step to program up to four transmitters.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (one more click forward) position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode.
9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

If the key fob was ever dropped the solder resistor tends to come loose and eventually it quits working for the solder joint breaks off the circuit. Open the for and look to see if it broken off. It can be resolder if you have the small gun and some flux

Check the relays in the fuse box. It appears that the solenoids for locking the doors are working correctly. However it appears that the lock solenoid is not working properly.

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Guessing will not fix this .

From the clicking sound and the fact that alot of your cars systems are down i would say that your battery is dead, if not bad altogether, or a terminal is loose on the battery. Check the terminals on your battery (be careful with the + (red) side and do not touch anything else metal on the car or the - (black) pole while touching it or just disconnect the - (black) for safetys sake). Check the terminals for looseness or corrosion and repair as neccisary. Then try a jumpstart but do not let the car "click" too much or you will burn out your starter. If your car's battery is indeed dead/bad you will find out within the next few times you try to turn on your car (it simply wont turn on) take the battery to a auto parts store and ask them to do a test. If the battery is ok then you can have it recharged if its bad then you will need a new one.

Remote key will not work to open doors or trunk, i have a new battery and it still wont open please help

have your fob reset to the vehicle, if you look hard enough you can prob. find the reset process online and do it yourself. Also you prob. have a keyless entry fuse, check and replace if bad.

2006 Humer H3, Won't start and electrical resets itself

Check the battery terminals real good.Make sure they are clean and tight.Check and see if any of the side terminals are leaking. As far as the blower motor. It is more than likely that the blower motor resistor is bad.It is located by the blower motor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Keyless entry on honda civic 2006 not working

The keyless entry is designed to work with the doors closed (closed - not locked). If the door ajar sensor thinks the door is open the keyless entry is disabled. When you manually lock the door it might tighten the door just enough to activate the keyless entry. I would try slamming all the doors closed and then see if the keyless entry works. If it still wont work have the wiring checked on the front door lock.

Doors wont open with keyless remote.

I am taking the truck up to the lock smith and having it re-programed. This should take care of the problem.
