I have a 2004 mitsubishi endevor when the truck is shifting from 3rd gear to 4th it starts shaking. it also shakes when i drive normal. it stops shaking if i accelerate but once the speed comes back down it continues to shake

Poss torque converter lockup chatter , have codes checked , poss needs trans flush with mitsu sp3!! atf only ,or some type of mount or carrier bearing maybe worn

I do not know if this vehicle has a torque converter lockup or not, but sounds like it. Does the transmission stop shaking when you go over 65? Some vehicles have a torque converter lockup, which means when the vehicle is traveling at a certain speed in high gear the torque converter "locks" and there is no slippage to the transmission resulting in better fuel economy. if the torque converter doesn't "unlock" when you slow down to say 45 then the engine will "lug" causing vibration. If this is the case you are not hurting anything by driving, just shift to 3 when it shakes then upshift under lighter load, or take it to a shop that replaces transmission sensors.
Normally while driving in overdrive (4th gear) you will feel it start slipping and finally slide into third gear. Then 3rd gear slips out into second, and you will never see 3rd or 4th gear again. I'm guessing this was the problem? If so its time for an overhaul
I have a s40 1.9d / 2000 plate,
In the last month or so the car loses revs when changing up to 3rd and 4th gear, I can only get 50 mph max in 3rd gear 80mp in 4th.
The car has just clocked 185,000 miles
Its a great car but a pai at the moment, I've had a service including fuel fillter change added fuel cleaners to the deilsel all to no avail
it does sound like the u joints
with the eggine turned off and in park craw under it and see if you can shake the drive shaft if you can shack it at all their wore, replace them
